To everyone hating on Prowl, I gotta tell ya-- I was *extemely* displeased with this guy until I did the turn-the-legs-around mod and now I could not be happier! The added articulation you get when you do it is exponentially higher than how he comes from the factory. I dodn't quite realize how much the lack of leg articulation was clouding my image of him, but now everythings allllllllllllll good!

 

Try it out if you got a mini screwdriver lying around-- it's totally reversible and adds so much to him.

I have a question, I have the blue version of prowl, and the mirrors and horns seem to be pretty well solid, but everyone who I have seen complain about them breaking have the police version, and other people I have seen post pics of the blue one say the mirrors are fine.

 

So does this mean that the mirrors are only faulty on the Police one, and not the blue? or am I jumping to conclusions?

Does Prowl's head match up with Smokescreen's and BlueStreak's? I was thinking of getting Alt Prowl and 2 Red alerts and head swapping one into Prowl.

I agree wholeheartedly with this review. Personally I think prowl is the worst BT to date. Not just for the quality issues either (which do play a very large part).

I would have agreed with you until I did the leg reverse mod.  Now I think Sideswipe can regain that crown.  With the leg swap his lower body becomes possibly the best of the BTs.  That doesn't fix the upper body though.

Agreed here.  He would have  made a great red alert.  I guess they didn't do that because they probably won't release the emergency WRX in the US.  To me, this is not a prowl homage. The leg swap mod helps, but agian, just doesn't cut it as an homage. 

 

Binaltech Prowl is a big fat (no pun intended) disappointment.  :tdown

 

I actually like the mold one the mod is done.  But he doesn't seem formitable.  He seems like he would be a great medic or without the lights, a good spy.  In real life his chest looks much better than in pictures, but his arms are too puny to be any kind of fierce warior.  I could see them remolding him to rumble or one of the other casets as a decepticon.  I'll be interest to see what con he ends up as...

I'll probably do this swap.  I think it will look much better when done on a white vehicle (red alert) compared to silver one (silver streak).

I really like BT Grimlock because despite the fact that he is not a t-rex he still has an incredible g1 feel to him. They nailed down what he would look like IF he was a car. Same with Shocky and even poor, poor Ravage. But Prowl was a car originally so there is no excuse IMO.

 

I know technically BT Prowl is not supposed to be “Prowlâ€? according to the story but to me he is intended to strike at least a resemblance to his G1 self.  Just as Jazz, hound and the rest of the gang. The close generation one homage’s just is what I have loved and come to expect from the line.

 

As a big fan of G1 Prowl it’s just not a close enough homage for my taste.

 

I think I will, however, pick up the alt. version when he gets released. Hopefully he will have grown on me by then.

it is odd that this mold wasnt saved for red alert and prowl the subaru repaint given how reflective of g1 transformations they are
