Has any one purchased the Knock-off of G1 Megz? If so; is it worth it, how durable is it, and how does he compare to the original?

ive bought 2 opened one of them its of good quality although the firing mechanism doesnt work to well and it kept popping off at the waist but that may have been just mine

I have this KO.  It is not bad.  There are metal parts which is nice.  The joints are fairly loose unfortunately.  I actually posted a thread here in the kitbash forum about this, you may be able to find it for some pointers for tightening them.  :)

 

I do plan to repaint it at some point.  Overall the colors are okay, but the orange tip for the gun is just silly (even if it is done for toy safety laws).

 

Oh, I will say that I have never tried the bullet firing mechanism.

I actually jut bought and recieved this KO along with the Decepticon matrix. By KO standards its pretty good. It does have the same metal parts as the original. I already have 2 Takara Megatron Re-issue #6,(bought them like 1or 2 years ago) but never take them out of the box. I bought this for diplay purposes, and it is not a bad piece to display. Definitely a good alternative if you don't want to shell out the bucks for Megatron Collection 6. Besides, its worth the money. BTW, when I bought Megs #6, they were like $60-$70 a piece, the prices on them has gone through the roof on EBAY. makes me want to think about parting with them...........Second thought, i just can't get rid of Megatron.

This particular KO is very good, for the price you cannot go wrong.  The only gripe is the weird face, but I had some even cheaper quality Megatron KO's that I swapped faces with.  Plus you're getting all the features of the Japanese release, whereas the US has never had a Megatron issued with the firing mechanism or the sword.  Definitely worth the buy.
