The price difference between them do vary as it breaks down like this (HLJ)

Galaxy Force             Cybertron

Scouts $8.99            $6.99

Deluxe $17.99          $9.99

Voyager $26.97        $19.99

Ultra     $35.00         $25-30 (latter are TRU and Kmart prices)

Super   $47.00         $40.00

Those are HLJ's prices so if you consider the average for US stores like BBTS and JRS it breaks down to

Galaxy Force             Cybertron

Scouts $10-14            $6.99

Deluxe $20-23          $9.99

Voyager $37-40        $19.99

Ultra     $45.00         $25-30 (latter are TRU and Kmart prices)

Super   $60+         $40.00

As such, it doesn't bother me as much as we aren't paying more for a Hasbro product than we are a Takara one and thus its to be expected that some things get sacfirced (and even that doesn't happen all the time, Mudflap and Red alert have additional apps compared to their GF counterparts)

Man, I can totally see you flinging that sucka at an intruder with all of your might. .

Hasbro is merely saving on paint so they will be able to repaint half of the line in a few months. :tflaugh

hasbro is just cutting corners so they can get a bigger return profit. they figure that since the kids they aim tf's at are too young to know any better then they can get away with this.

and they're right

Yeah, but the kids are more likely to not understand why the toy doesn't look like the picture on the box.

I'm an Alternators only collector, but I thought that I would buy Vector Prime.   I decided not to after seeing the stark contrast between the photos on the box and actual toy.  The difference is just too great for me to buy the toy.

Kids, or rather, Their targetted demographic won't care. In all honesty, I didn't give two sh1ts what was on the box compared what what was *IN* the box back in '84 and I never really noticed differences until Action Masters were tapering off. Being an adult collector I /do/ notice these things, but I find myself not really caring as long as the overall figure is still intact. Show accuracy be damned.

This is far from the truth. I cared as a kid. Even My kid asked "how come your Hotshot key has silver on it and mine is just red. I want mine to be like yours" He just like I did(and still do), sits and stares at the packaging and other forms of art taking in it beauty. He also notices small differences in things.

I hated that the toys were no where near cartoon acurate.

I would not be so pissed if Takara's Optimus was didn't include "extra" paint apps.  Why I am really pissed is that Hasbro decided to save 2 cents on their version.  So why is hasbro screwing us if takara isnt???

Galaxy Convoy has a retail of 5200 Yen.

5200 Yen is a few cents over $46.

You pay $40.

Takara is charging $6 for a few more paint apps.

So why are Takara screwing over the fans when Hasbro aren't?

I cared too.  I remember when I got Ramjet as a kid.  I saw the box art of his awesome articulation.  When I opened him up, I realized he was a brick with wings.  I was disappointed.  As kidz, we don't understand the fact that the actual toy may vary and to me at that time if the toy didn't look exactly like the box art, I considered it a form of lying.

And back to Cybertron Optimus.  Sure I can't stop Starscreaming and go to the store and buy $10 worth of paint & supplies and paint him myself.  But thats not the point.  I shouldn't have to. :tfmad

And where does your souce come from?  My friend in Japan told me he is 4200 yen buddy.

How many of the 85+% of the kids have parents that import Transformers from Japan? I see your point about show accuracy, but not all of Takara's figures are show accurate either...
