Are you guys just as pissed as me?

I don't see what the big deal is. So it's missing some paint apps, so what? Do kids care if a certain piece is yellow or red? No.

:pfx

The only time my son has EVER mentioned show accuracy is when we were watching Beast Machines.

This shouldn't be surprising to you or anyone else who follows TF news even casually. You could Starscream about this situation or you could just deal with it. These are children's toys after all, and Hasbro isn't under any obligation to make you happy. It's your own fault for being so obsessive about toys that you get upset over paint.

You may be right on the other points but you are dead wrong on this one.  If Hasbro didn't care about making customers happy, then Optimus wouldn't have any color at all, just 1 big piece of red plastic.  Customers angry=no customers=no new sales= no profit.

And aren't we all collectors, which is why we are on this board?  And we all are collecting kidz toys just like you.  I am not being Outback but I have a right to Starscream about something if I wanted to just like you have a right to not read this topic or to post a crude response.

You talk like you work for Hasbro's development team, "Screw the collectors, they are too dumb to notice these missing paint apps and it will save us $1 per toy."

I am sure there are some others out there that is just as pissed about this as much as I am, but I'm just voicing it.  In fact, I hate this so much that I may just return it and get the GF version.

his point is;

Collectors portion of the new toy market = 15%

Parents of kids watching show on TF = 85%

Exactly. Let's step back from this whole situation for a moment.

Hasbro is a toy company. They make toys for children. If you, as an adult, want to buy these toys for yourself, you're certainly welcome to do so. But let's not for a moment think that people like you are Hasbro's primary demographic, b/c they aren't. (And yes I say "like you" b/c I buy Cybertron toys for my son, not for myself.) And to get so uptight about something so insignificant..... you may think that Hasbro is giving US customers the shaft, but the fact of the matter is that kids simply don't care. My son has Vector Prime, and he's seen the show, and he has yet to express any disappointment whatsoever in that figure. As a matter of fact, I would be shocked if I ever heard him mentioning paint apps.

I'm sorry, but I just find it hard to take this seriously. They're friggin' toys. Grow up.

you know, there's probably just as many(if not more) tf fans in america as there is in japan. the only difference is that american fans are spread out over a larger distance so it's harder to distribute the toys in such a way that most tf fans can get to them.

i agree, but that doens't negate the portion of the market that they control

Yeah, I think we're all missing the point here. We talk about "collectors" and "fans" and "customers" as if they were the same group.

They aren't.

I'd like to contribute to this discussion...

AARG IT'S JUST PAINT ON A TOY IF IT BOTHERS YOU SO MUCH BUY SOME TAMIYA PAINTS AND BRUSHES AND FIX IT GAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

*pant* *wheeze*

...OK, back to normal. It just bothers me that we as a group can't be happy with what we've got. If the transformation process has been simplified beyond belief, fine--that's something to get a little pissed over. If the mold has been changed to meet safety regulations--shortened smokestacks, no pointy ends, etc.--OK, that's a bit annoying but utterly understandable and overlookable. If it's missing paint, then...I'm sorry, but that's not a big deal for me. Unless it's like completely white when the original was gold, blue, crimson and black.

What I suggest is every one invest in permanent Sharpee markers. I have a metalic siver marker and it worked wonders on my Ransack's speed key. Looks like it was painted at the factory.

On GF Prime the wings aren't just held on with snap tabs.....  so if the wings come off.....  they're probably staying off.

Bearing in mind that he's a bit back heavy, im happy with my choice.
