Wait wait wait... $265?!?! :eek The rest of the set better damn well be made of solid gold with diamond detailing based off BIG TF molds starting with G1 Fort Max and Scorponok if they want THAT kind of money. I sure as hell don't plan to spend over $100 on basics of this nature, particularly with the originals already in overwhelming abundance.

Here's something I was thinking about yesterday. Now, most of you know I'm not going to be a "defender of MC", but this idea just hit me. Those recolored Energon weapons that we got at OTFCC last year were going for like $40 to $60 from what I saw and we got those for free. This figure comes with those, so if you expand your mind a bit and consider those as part of the deal, it begins to get A LITTLE better. I know it's a small consolation, but it makes sense to me.

Considering 3H took the ultra Jetstorm mold which many tended to feel apathetic towards and repainted it into an ultra Cyclonus which had people scrambling over one another to get ahold of, it's not a matter of rocket science. Nor is it fair or accurate to call us spoiled, considering it's the same providers of the mold that damn near choke us to death with the afforementioned overabundance before the repaint is even available. It takes a minimal understand of the collector's market coupled with the knowledge of the characters in the mythos that can and WILL make repaints sell.

 

3H actually had a plan for the Strongarm mold which I would have bought into like crazy. Two actually. One was to remold the head to make G1 Brawn whose "energon weapons" would've been energon gloves that slid over his robot fists in addition to that damnable energon axe and chip. The second was going to be G1 Roadbuster, again with a remolded head and a scaled down version of his G1 rifle in addition to the axe and chip.

 

Hasbro has already widely released Strongarm. They even recolored the mold which saw fairly wide release and are going to release it again in Universe. Considering this fact, why would we want a crappily repainted Strongarm?

 

Buzzclaw was bad enough considering the supposed Repugnus repaint Hasbro already has lined up alongside Overbite/Hellscream. However, Buzzclaw is an okay (if utterly unecessary) repaint, while his friend "Fallback" is sloppy as all hell and without any effort to really distinguish from the one we're going to see on shelves AGAIN in Universe I fail to understand what incentive anyone has to purchase this set if this is the sign of things to come.

If one of the exclusives was an Alt I would buy the set.  It makes me wonder what they are thinking sometimes when they pick and choose the exclusives.

I think a lot of people are thinking the same thing. What happened to the fans' choice exclusives? I don't see a lot of fans picking these two if given the choice.

Hell I like this thing, but not for $265.  Although I like the Brawn/Roadbuster ideas a bit better, Id buy this in a second if it showed up in Universe. The blue parts look way out of place on a brown and tan jeep, but a little switcharoo with my blue Strongarm would cure that.  This shoulda been named 'Outback'. It looks just like him, and I loved that guy on S3 of G1.

Damn copyright laws. You suck! Shockwave cant be Shockwave, he's gotta be 'Shockblast'. Jazz has to be 'Meister'--although that actually doesnt sound too bad, but Outback has to be 'Fallback'? Sounds like a name for a guy who has a real sh!tty sense of balance or something...
