Yup Haggisman that was the answer I was looking for. It's been driving me nuts. I have to admit though, with the G1 Swoop, they seemingly added an extra dorsal crest on his beak. This was what was throwing me last night when I was Gooling for the answer.

Thanks for all your help guys! :thumb

Damn, why did I have to miss out on this post!

I would have enjoyed answering that one.

Please ask another prehistory related question!!!

Ok fine though I think I know the answer to this one.

Sludge Brontosaur or Brachiosaur.

I'd think he's the first as he has no visible head crest as Brachiosaur did.

Sludge is a Camarasaurus. He's got the skull (which was originally mistakenly put on the skeleton of an Apatosaurus to create Brontosaurus), and he's too small to be an Apatosaurus without towering over Grimlock and Slag. He's actually got the perfect body size for an adult Camarasaurus, although the Diaclone designers made his tail too short for any sauropod I can think of.

Well, if you ask me I'd say hes a titanosaur or a camarasaur because they were quite robust with thick necks and tails.

Bronto/Apatosaurs had long thin heads, necks and tails that ended in a whiplash. Sludge is alot fatter with the rounder "classic" head-like Camarasaurus.

Infact I'm gonna go with camarasaur because when "Brontosaurus" was originaly discovered with no head the used Camarasaurus' as a model but it actually looke more like Diplodocus'.

+Camarasaurus could lift its head verticaly like Sludge does. Diplodocids(like "Brontosaurus") and titanosaurs couldnt do that.

Yay!

Oh my God you answered it while i eas typing my answer...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW: Camarasaurus would well tower over a T.rex. It was 18metres long and about 10metres tall compared to T.rex: 5 tall and 13long

Oh I forgot about Bronts not being able to life their necks!

And they think all we talk about is toys!

Ok going on this thing about the wrong head on the wrong body, did Brotosaurus actually exist?

Brontosaurus turned out to be the same as Apatosaurus(which was 1st to be named so thats the official name). Brontosaurus is actually a specific species of Apatosaurus(A. ajax).

Although maveric palaeontologist Robert T. Bakker reckons there may be enough differences in Apatosaurus ajax from other kinds of Apatosaurus to warrant its own genus. And guess what genus that would be ladies and gents-Brontosaurus!

PS: sorry for being so jealous and conceited regarding my dinosaur know how. For that I apologise. I should be happy there are more people here with dinosaur knowledge than just I

Well I still keep hoping that one day they'll find the fossilised skeleton of a dinosaur that can only be classed as a dragon!

I'm quite certain that the original Brontosaurus was "imaginary".  It didn't exist.  What they found was an incomplete Apatasaurus skeleton, and as was mentioned above, wound up stucking a Camarasaurus skull to the neck, creating what we know as the Brontosaurus.  Once that skeleton was debunked as wrong, we got our Apatasaurus.

If another dinosaur was discovered later on and officially named a Brontosaurus (although I doubt it considering the confusion it would cause), that's all fine and dandy.
