Its all about the $$$$. Everytime you see a robot on screen it costs $$$$$. Human actors are cheap by comparison. They have no choice but to make this more about humans. It could be done very well. So lets be optimistic.

first off, only 10 character in the film?? i think it is not enought to have a successful film.

next i wanna ask a question: can takara have toys before or after film? may be have optimus prime and megatron, but  can takara makes other figures?

i hope can have base in the film...... :tfevil

If you start 'Transformers' with giant robots sitting in a spaceship flying through space, your movie is dead in the water. It's all about keeping it at a human level, and seeing the amazing things that are going on through the eyes of the characters."

Someone explain to me why this only works in cartoons and not movies. I realize the closes thing in the movie world are the talking dog cat movies, but why can't robots be made human enough to relate to. why?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Because if the movie focused only on the TFs, it might as well be entirely CG. Humans aren't just going to be in this so we have something to emotionally connect with. They are our reality yardstick. These giant robots need to interact with people so we can get a sense of scale, so we can suspend our disbelief and place them in some sort of reality.

Some rumours and possible **********SPOILERS********** from CBR:

Cinema Blend has possible spoilers and definite snark, claiming, "Soundwave [G1 - Cassette Desk] who played the role of spy with his cassette Transformers will now inexplicably become a helicopter?!?!? Ratchet [G1 - Ambulance] the repairman and essentially "doctor" to injured Transformers will now become a firetruck?!?!? Jazz [G1 - Martini Porche 935] will become some other generic sportscar - presumably because Porsche won't allow licensing of Jazz's original form. Arcee [G1 - Cybertronian Car] will become a motorcycle (which she does in, surprise, the crappy 2004 "Transformers: Energon" remake!)."

Have you seen the salaries these "humans" command?

why not use a spoiler tag?

New forms don't bother me at all.  It'll be something fresh, instead of some of the stale stuff we've been getting.  Maybe.

why not use a spoiler tag?
