Just because there are only ten central characters in the movie doesn't mean those will be the only figures we get in the toy line.

 

If, for example, Blurr shows up in one scene, for about ten seconds, on Cybertron, chances are we'll get a movie Blurr figure.

 

Hasbro aren't dumb, they know what the film needs, they know what they need, and they know how to put them together.

 

Also, geez guys, talk about jumping the gun... the film's two years away!

they have no reason to be stuck for a sequal, the tfs discover more tfs are on earth and there is a race to find them (ala bw) and they turn out to be the insecticons and dinobots, how hard could that be.

I just wish everyone would stop panicking and being like "WE'RE DOOMED NOES!!!!" Come on. You know how long it took to get Spider-Man done? And look how that ended up turning out. Jeebus. Just chill out.

From the Kurtzman interview, it sounds like even the writers are worried about how to sell this movie and it sequels. A movie about a "boy and his car"? Screw that. Make it man vs. machine. Maybe we need Cameron instead of Bay.

 

Oh well, to early to get excited or upset over anything anyway. The movie is still a less than a year away from shooting and that is plenty of time for things to change.

Yeah, the shift in release dates takes the pressure off. Presumably Hasbro balanced out that it was better to release a GREAT movie a year after then originally intended than a RUSHED one on time.

 

I'm also a bit confused where people got the impression that there will be cameos of thousands of other TFs. In actual fact, Don said around the time of the first Kurtzman and Orci draft that there would be NO cameos and NO other Transformers appearing other than the main ten.

If you start 'Transformers' with giant robots sitting in a spaceship flying through space, your movie is dead in the water. It's all about keeping it at a human level, and seeing the amazing things that are going on through the eyes of the characters."

 

Someone explain to me why this only works in cartoons and not movies. I realize the closes thing in the movie world are the talking dog cat movies, but why can't robots be made human enough to relate to. why?
