As for Arcee, she may have been one of the things that was under "judicial review" according to one of Bob's posts at DM.net. He mentioned that some changes have been made and both Bob and Don have said they considered the changes made because of interaction with fans at DM.net have been "very positive".

Arcee's status isn't known either way. Bob said he was surprised that she wasn't that popular, but didn't give any hint that she was one of the changes made.

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere, so I thought I'd draw attention to Don's post from Sunday:

A Proper Sunday Posting

We tried this week to have a “Secret Forum where a few Stooges who had earned special trust could present ideas directly. It didn’t work- the board software is not capable of handling it. TV and Alphatrion busted the back doors wide open, the bastiches. But hey, good for them. I always hate going to premieres and finding a VIP room. Like up yours, no one is more important than anyone else. Seriously.

I read the Kurtzman and Orci draft this week. A seriously terrific piece of writing. There is a reason why these guys are so in demand. The draft I read Mr. Bay has been working on with them for many weeks. There are still things that can be done on it, and will be, but it is a seriously kick ass piece of writing.

Which leads me again to something that I cannot repeat often enough. This film WILL NEVER BE like the cartoon or the comic. There is one reason for that- we are NOT making an animated film. We never were. If you want JUST giant robots kicking each other’s ass (and that is perfectly cool) you have the dvds, the comics, the new ova dvds. We are making a live action summer blockbuster designed to introduce the idea of Transformers to a worldwide audience. That means humans aplenty in a film where they respond to the robots. Longtime Stooges know this, but it cannot be repeated enough.

I’m not going to discuss the content of the script at this point. I need to hear from Tom Desanto, and the Dreamworks team, and the director, so ask all your questions, they won’t be answered. We are pretty far along now… I think the fan desires have been properly registered and noted. Let’s see what happens.

What I will note is that this bold experiment of ours seems to be working. Through this board, for the first time, a filmmaking team has interacted with the fans of the property from the very beginning. The producers, the writers, Hasbro, the studio- everyone has been able to come on, ask questions, and interact. The script I read is a direct result if this interaction. Be proud of what you have done so far, and stick around, there is more work to do.

Have a great Sunday Stooges!

I can't help but feel the sense of irony as in the first 3 episodes of G1 (MTMTE) there were so few decepticons, Megatron, soundwave, ravage, laserbeak, starscream, skywarp, thundercracker and reflector, that they then had to invent over a dozen generic background deceps (seekers, reflector/rumble clones) to fill the ranks so they outnumber the Autobots. Here we are over twenty years later having to go through the same process to make the Deceps have a majority despite the fact that they're the ruthless warriors and the Autobots are the peaceful ones forced to fight. (hence one decep should be worth at least two Autobots anyway) Perhaps DM should go with the MTMTE solution and stick with 5 main deceps and make the other 5 nameless background extras solely there for the purpose of making up the numbers and getting blown up, red-shirt style!!!

Somebody else said before...Knightrider... That mus be why I hearing Knightrider theme music.

Humans aplenty is fine by me, as long as the robots have more than 2 dimensional personalities.  I don't even mind if it's a human that pulls off the grand scheme at the end to help the autobots win... it's always been teh autobots freindship with their human cast that gave them the advantage.

I dont remember no Rumble clones Ever. Rumble was a part of the MTMTE cast. But I do know what you mean. Army of Autobots Group of cons. IN Cybertron and BM, Starscream has an Army and Vehicon Megs had an Army, Mindless but still an army.

Given that the writers asked for the top ten Decepticons, and an additional fine are/will be added to the script, I imagine that's EXACTLY what's happening.

The fact that an additional 5 characters can be slotted in so easily, and that they're interchangable and can be swapped about to (presumably) get more popular characters is, would seem to suggest that the additional five will be grunts, there for spectacle rather than add any real character dynamic.

I just wish there was a knob to turn down the fanboy noise. I really liked what Don said about the movie not replacing the original cartoon / comic -- they will still be there for us to enjoy.

UNLIKE STAR WARS KTHX GEORGE :fire

*cough* sorry :redface

I kinda wish the movie was just made already so we could stop talking about how it should be and can talk about how good it was, even though it could've been better.

It was mainly in the middle episode where the deceps were at the dam. I remeber one scene that sticks in my head where the deceps are collecting energon cubes and you can see about four rumbles, reflectors etc. Then the decep jet clones are throughout the whole episode and conveniently disappear when not needed.
