is it just me or does the new pic make it look as if soundwave is holding two guns...

meaning the 2 engines each turn into a gun....

 

I am still meh about LB turning into a TAPE or a square bomb or whatever..... but overall this figure is so going to ROCK

i just hope they dont muck it up too much with sounds and lights....

wait what the hell am i saying thats the only way they make bigger characters.....sigh

i just wish we didnt have to loose interesting Transformations due to a battery pack (Armada Seekers anyone???)

i think LB will just turn into a compact form to fit into his chest and will act as a recon drone rather then a full fledged TF

I just saw Howl's Moving Castle, and add to that the Rumble Drones... this might actually be the way that it goes. In HOWL they had hundres of these Bird creatures diving out of the bombbays.... but if thats the case i hope there is more than one included (one red and one gold....)

Nope, that's all I was gonna say. I wasn't even making a reference to "character development" or anything. I just meant that it's kinda hard to extract a personality out of a robot bird that just goes AAAAWWWK AAAAWWWK all the time. For all practical purposes, he may as well have been a drone. At least Ravage had a discernable personality.

i agree and i was never fond of the idea that he was not a drone in G1 to me he was a cybertronian bird of pray with a few extra tricks

I've heard that he will be. Hasbro still has rights to the name so they would be stupid if they didn't.

But i seem to recall LazerBeaks Tech-specs being a bit more sofisticated than the G1-Cartoon let on. Same with ravage.

 

What were they like in the comics?

 

I guess before beastwars - it was pretty easy to write off any beastformer as a "pet" and not an actual character - for example i still have a hard time imagining RatBat as a LEADER and not a "pet"

laserbeak and ravage werent drones because when they were on their own or had solo missions were scared to take on the autobots and showed signs of cowering.
