Alternator head campaign

Repro's of heads already in use is cool, I'd go for that, but maybe even some custom heads for alts. I would love a Megs head or even a Bumblebee head for an Alt. you know characters that have not/may not be produced in the Alt line

i really want to know how to cast parts myself, but a friend told me that it woudnt turn out.

I tinkered around with mold making, and can make some things out of clay, some times even metal (one sided) but plastics and resins are really nasty stuff.  Unfortunately I don't have a work shop or room to get into stinky and hazardous plastic work, barely enough to work on repaints.  I think there are books and what not out there, at any which way none of it is cheap.

We don't exactly have to stop at just custom heads.  I was thinking some of these new merge set heads, like the jet combiner might be made to fit.

Ok, Ken said an average mold takes $30 to make.  I am still asking about using 2 heads instead of just one and see if we can work on that.

He asked for pictures of the items "WE" might want remade.  I tinkered around and came up with a couple...

Though I DOUBT anyone will want to have ALL the heads used.

I do not have doubles of all these any way...ok not Windcharger or Swindle but the rest I do.  AND I figure ones with visors will be more $.

Then we have the G1 picts, BEFORE and AFTER repro parts.  Got bunches of em (and have seen on Ebay) missing these most notorious parts.

Anyone have any other ideas, feel free to post picts and or ideas.

I have a dang DIACLONE Red Sunstreaker missing his windshield.

I'd like a repro Alt Tracks head and if there was a custom with a faceplate that would make one of my kitbashes a lot easier.

I'd also like to see Vector Prime's sword and the little matching piece on the other sides of the ship repro'd into hard plastic.  Maybe cast them in colors to match the toon's ship and then the buyers could just paint the blade silver or cast it in a gray color and paint the handle.  Either way would work form me.  I just had the bendy sword.

If I knew what materials to use I'd be making custom parts like crazy to repro.  Problem is I don't know what to use to really sculpt or create a good solid piece to repro.

Actually, I've already talked a little bit with Ken about making molds for the heads and how he can just take it out of my Account so others can bennifet from it.

I have a couple heads from Alts that I'm going to donate to be reproduced and even the ones for Alt Skids and Alt Prowl. (Yea, I bought them off ebay, Bad me...I'm soooo impatient.)

But before I do that I wanted to tune up a couple custom alt heads Including Alt M.Wheeljack so people can make Evil Alt WJ's if they want. (Trust me it's turnning out awsome!)

Oh, and to you kitbashers, a tip.

Alt Prowl without head fins plus head spikes= Great Alt Wildrider head.

For the record, I've considered buying Transrepro's Alt Wheeljack head parts to work on converting the head to fit into the Corvette Alt mold.  Right now I'm having trouble trying to determine which parts to build up/carve down for the balljoint, how to move the head far enough back and to make sure the ears don't get in the way.  I certainly don't want to botch up cutting the only WJ head I have.

I'm not sure how many other people would be interested, but if I for one could buy a ~$10-$12 Wheeljack head customized to fit in the Corvette that'd be awesome.

That's more like what I am talking about right there.  If Ken would take a bunch of us on at the same time, orders and donations.  We chip in just a couple extra bucks to pool towards the mold AND getting the first batch of repro heads, then we'd all make out.  Rather than sit back and wait for just one of us to take the plunge and hit on the mold making so the price will be cheaper just for them.

Just gues-timating, but the WJ head is $7.50, for a 2 piece head.  So other heads similar will eventually be the same price.  $30 for the mold (think that gets ya 1 head) broken down and spread out, hell its basic math add say $3 bucks for a head, 10 of us order heads, mold is made and we all get a-head.

At first I was like, who cares, I'll send in the heads, and eat the cost just to keep me from tracking down say another dead end, lopping off the head, and then having this extra body laying around for $20 or more bucks.  BUT then all the other ideas, like custom tracks head with face plate...that's $30 a head...3 heads is the better side of $100 and I ain't eating friggen PB+J every damn day at work because I am rich.  Mind you, I am also not the type who is gonna Starscream and gripe over a couple extra bucks...but $30 X 3, 4, 5...that's pushing it.  $10 for a head or so, no problem.

Ken is a good guy, I asked him before about Seeker kits and he said there was not much demand, and it cost too much.  My solution was to try and get pre-ordersm and show the demand.  If a bunch of us demand (and in this case, 10 heads to order from how ever many of us) then we might be able to work this out.

TFmaster, that is really cool that you not only grabbed some new molds but want to donate to have custom ones made.  If more of us knew, fans who would act rather than sit idle, then more could help cover the cost.

At any rate, my time is limited, and I either have to get working on paint for my wheeljack G1...or hold off till next weekend...sigh.  If only I had this "Free Time" I keep hearing about.

WHO WANT'S IN ON PRE-ORDERING HEADS?!?!?

I'll list what I got to offer, might need some parts lending as well.

For my incomplete custom Alt Prowl, I took a smokescreen and totally retooled the head, so that his head wings extend all the way back, as the G1 toy and the Action Master does...  Cutting the chin extensions off SS worked good for me.

TFmaster, that looks sweet! As soon as I saw it though, Noise Maze popped into my head. I'd deffinetly buy a repro of this head! put me on the list for this one!
