I gotta see a clearer pic, but it looks like they're still using the Streak/Smokescreen head for alert - and that of course makes no sense.Â Hmm... does anyone know offhand if Sideswipe's head will fit on the Impreza body??

I agree. That pic seems to look like they are using Streak`s head. Hopefully these are early test shots or something.

Plus, I think the head of Jazz without the visor, would make a better head for alert. JMO :thumb

I don't think they'll be changing alert's head.

My impression is the BTA line is to provide the G1-esque repaints fans wanted.

Sunstreaker is self-explanatory, but it looks obvious that BTA alert isn't supposed to be G1 Red alert, he's supposed to be G1 Prowl sharing a Subie body with Smokes/Streak just like Smokes/Streak/Prowl did with the Datsun Z in G1.

If these first releases sell, I fully expect to see a Swindle repainted as Trailbreaker at somepoint in this line.

From the looks of it, alert looks a lot more like Prowl. The head doesn't look remolded either. I wished they swapped bodies, it would have made more sense especially since BT is supposedly the continuation of G1.

Assuming he's indeed black (and not red; looks like black) I think this isn't meant to be RED alert, but more the diaclone predecessor to Red alert (wasn't that Mach alert?).

I predict many will indeed swap the heads.

Maybe, but as far as I know, alert is the Takara name for G1's Red alert. I'm expecting him to be a police car since it makes no sense to give him the "Fire Chief" scheme since the BTs are striving for realism in car modes.

If that Police Officer girl isn't done like Tai/Ai-chan, I'd be tempted to get alert just to repaint it into Ai-chan...now I wonder if we'll get a Nightbeat with Minerva. Heh.

Nope, Nightbeat was offered as a mail-in during the Masterforce run, alongside Siren, Joyride, Darkwing, and Dreadwind. Doubledealer was the only American version of a Masterforce toy that they didn't get. Check it out:
