Catalog of all major G1 car variants

Recommended Posts

Overlord, do you have 2 of the same Trasformer Lancia Stratos Turbo? Both say 539, or is one the Marlboor type? I thought they had different numbers.

Hi Tripredacus,

those Wheeljacks in the pic are these:

- Italian GIG Wheeljcak

- Italian GIG Wheeljack with Light Blue Roof (paint application error)

- Japanese Wheeljack

- Japanese Marlboor Wheeljack

Some people do not consider the Light Blue Roof a variation.  I've had the chance to pick one up and I did so (just to be a completionist).

Take care!

The.Overlord

Why did you call the Marlboor Stratos Turbo a Lotus?

Also the black Stingray was, as far as I know, only around in Scandinavia (or at least Finland) during Diaclone, and was more recently a mail-away exclusive.

I posted in the wrong spot...groan.

In short...forgot the G2 variants, mental block over lousy versions.

Think there are more variants in Trailbreaker stripes, and clear vs blue windshields.

Why does my Diaclone Jazz have a Green Autobot symbol on his leg?

My Tras Jazz has the windshield support?

Where did these G1 Prowl's with the DIACLONE shield on the hood, but plain on the doors come from?

Green Wrecker in Tras I missed, have like 4.  Siginifigant since 1 some of them were released in Red, and 2 it came in the red ones box.

You also forgot "Cookie Crisp" Jazz. The decals were very watered down.  Any sticker that mentined brand names or racing teams was made blank. The headlights are a different colour as well.

ha,

X-Bob'd

Don't forget the Diaclone Chrome Smokescreen. It was the smokescreen mold all chromed, I think it was for some draw.. ther's a picture of it floating around sitting next to the diaclone gold jazz.

And if you really want some work to do, do these! :) (sorry I don't have bigger pics, but they are out there)

Mike, try going here if you haven't already:

The car that is sitting with the campain prized Jazz from '83 is the same mold as bluesteak released in '84 also limited to 50 items. They were both mail in items at that time. On the side of diaclone packaging, there was a "licence" that they could punch out and keep for themselves but were required as "proof of purchase" similar to how robot points were used in the G1 line for entry into the contest.

The gold smokescreen is almost identical to the prize from '84 however it has the addition of the front racing bumper and spoilers. It still has the T-bar roof and licence plates stating "Fairlady" not the regular Turbo plates that came with normal smokescreens. This item was planned as a concept piece for a 3rd campain but was never carried out due to the release of Transformers in the US and plans for release in Japan.

Larger pics can be seen here:

Thanks.                        -Himawari

Hmmm and there were 5 "Skids" released in Diaclone. But only 3 different colors. For some reason, 2 came out with different names.

The first time the Honda City was released in Diaclone, it was the red City R which did not have the bump on the hood and had the original head with faceplate (like the later reissue Crosscut) and then it was released in silver as the City S.

The next three Hondas released in Diaclone were the City Turbo mold which is what "Skids" is from. These were done in blue, black and red.

SOme of the above Hondas came with or without sunroof, so there are a number of inter-Diaclone variations.

All the best
