Anybody Ever Been Dumped b.c of Transformers?

Recommended Posts

I agree with those before me who believe she is using the TFs as an excuse/easy means of hurting you.  It may have seemed trivial or childish to her, but girls are largely used to putting up with the interests guys have, such as watching sports, playing cards, spitting, etc.  I like to put my interest out there so no one is taken by surprise.  My Myspace.com profile actually has a picture of my collection on it- and the background is a huge Decepticon logo (http://www.myspace.com/vza).

I left up an away message linking to KB toys' site with the Supreme Starscream pre-order with something to the effect of, "Holy crap!  I'm buying two!" and a girl I used to see left me a message "hm...time to grow up?"  I left her something cryptic/unpleasant, but it escapes me now.  Regardless, the right women out there will either be tolerant of this hobby, or even find it endearing.  The world is warming up to nerdy things, these days.  I'm "cool" according to my peers, but I collect Transformers, appreciate Star Wars, and plan to get a Grumpy Bear tattoo one of these days.

Accept the whole person, or let them be, I say.

Of course, I only go on the occasional (bad) date, for the most part...

I'm plenty old enough to understand it chief and yes I know thats what they enjoy buying, kind of the whole point of my response, maybe you should try reading the entire thing instead of looking for something to gripe about to make yourself feel important.

I stand corrected:  Your faulty logic of comparing women's desires to buy "age appropriate" things versus grown men collecting children's toys (my previous post proves I read the entire thread, chief) shows that you lack analytical and/or social (i.e., don't understand the opposite sex) skills.  Read your post again and ask yourself who's the one who came across as griping.

Don't worry, with luck you'll have a chance to kiss a real-live girl someday.

Done.

Again you missed the point entirely, not at all suprising giving the topic and your in here Starscreaming because of some "faulty logic", my point was, spending money on things you truthfully dont need goes both ways, I guess that was a little to hard for you to pick up so I'm happy to point that out for you, as far as kissing a girl goes, well I prefer to do that with ones I'm not related to, whats that old saying, if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all, check the topic, this is meant to be more of a friendly supportive issue, not for someone with a stick up there butt to get wild about.

I usualy shut people up when they see what all my toys are insured for, and then they realize it's like any other hobby...as for being dumped nope, straight up I say the following if a girl wants to date:

1) I collect toys and games, deal with it or don't bother.

2) Friends are friends, they were here before you and shall remain that way.

3) My house, my TV, my radio, my CD's...never change them if i have something on, I'll follow this rule at your house as well.

4) My collection are never to be messed with, period. If you want to learn how to handle and care for the stuff, ask and i will show you.

I have never had a problem with these rules and my relationships have all ended smoothly and with out much fuss.

As for your gal leaving you, ouch..it sucks, especialy over such a trivial matter, I'm sure she never spent money on things for herself?

Half the problem is that she's not materialistic whatsoever- no collections, no obsessions, NOTHING...

So it's even harder to make it relate for her...

She seemed disappointed today (got the rest of my stuff) that she had to give up Air Raid (I bought Universe Air Raid/Wind Sheer a li'l while back to 'split') I don't know if it was 'cause of the finality of the breakup, or the fact that he'd grown on her...

Love me, love my 'bots.

I could see it if it was over you changing part of your hygiene. Something that IS neccessary and something beneficial to the both of you.

It's over toys, then she needs to go to the curb because that means it's "Damnit, he could've spent that on ME." which isn't right because I can almost guarantee you'd tell us she spent nothing on you.

Screw anyone who makes you change who you are (aside from obvious things like hygiene, but if you have that problem...well a woman ain't even close.)

Stick with who you are. Screw 'em.

What about those of us who think of them as toys? >.> ;)

I've never had a GF, so I've never had the pleasure of getting dumped over toys, which is a silly thing anyway. if a person is that shallow, then screw 'em.

I agree,,my ex dumped me all cause i like to collect mecha stuff. she said I was too kidie,,o well screw her, i have a kool girlfriend thats actually into mecha stuff as well,,so far so good

I think the main thing that comes out of this is that the gf doesnt mind you collecting them, she just uses it as an excuse for breaking up or a dis. I dont think they really hate it.

get the stick out of your ass, and then come post again. Seriously guys, cut it out

My buddy has a gf thats hates when adults get anything kiddie.  he got a rc truck & she had a fit.  I always kinda knew she hated that I collected tfs.  I think that if a mate dosen't like what you do then you guys should split.  My girl is so so about it.  I think that she likes it cause it a gift that she can get & it will put a smile on my face.
