i throw out most packaging except for reissues and some of the larger boxes. i also keep any asian market items like RM or just random TF figures like lio convoy and big convoy. i keep all instructions and have a box to store them in, i use universe primals box hehe. other that that nearly everything gets thrown away. boxes take up too much space and i have no plans to ever sell my stuff.

:tflaugh

meh, toys are for playing with. I'm not a big fan of keeping empty boxes and what not. if you're really interested in resale value then you should never touch the stuff once you get it home.

*touches stuff*

the instructions are way more valuable than the funky old boxes, I use to keep cards whne bw/bm had instruction on them, but other than that that stuff is gone... If I really see a tf as valuable, I buy 2 (kisses MP-01 box) damnit, I have lessened its value by getting mandrool on it

I keep boxes, cards, bubbles, wire ties, everything.  But only for official TFs, not kos or anything else.  I don't know why.  I don't plan to sell them, although I guess that option is always open.

You gotta have a TF twist-tie and plastic thing auction! It is like I am keeping all the info cards I get in hockey card packs... I have like 300 of them now... I am gonna sell once I fill up the box!

I keep everything... so I am not a good example. I don't keep the bubbles tho, but I keep the little cardboard inserts in carded items like in Energon and Armada. If I open them that is.

I did something really stupid a few years ago and threw out the plastic inserts for my Beast Wars II and Neo boxes... duh!

I cant throw anything away, I keep the boxes and cable ties though I do rotate my collection and sell bits off from time to time.

Boxes are for trashin'. I only keep boxes if they came from exclusives or toys that I didn't find on a Walmart/Target/TRU etc. shelf.

I keep all my boxes in my basement storage area. But if you are strapped for room, i take the big boxes like unicron etc and put smaller boxes like alts and cards inside. It saves so much room and nuthing will get damaged, the boxes hold the structure of the big box while the big box covers the others.

Yeah but not everyone has such a monster collection as you, having that much stuff makes saving boxes a logistical nightmare ;)

I keep most of my boxes now, and try to have a few boxes from each line to display what the packaging for said line looks like.  (Yes, I have a few empty boxes on display.)  Right now, in the nebulous state of mt TF room, I've got some figs (like the retail versions of the Alternators) displayed in thier boxes, most figs out of package on display, some of the cooler looking boxes on display empty, and a few are still sealed, like my Spychangers Ironhide (tiny tins version) and the last few Alts I bought, Wheeljack and Shockblast.

Then again, not everyone has the luxury of having a separate room for thier collection, so I'm lucky in that respect...

BTW, I just took pics of the room, and will be uploading them later tonight, most likely.  I'll post a new thread in the collectors corner! :thumb
