WTF IS CASINO NIGHT AND WHO GIVES A BlotE??!!! STFU!!!

I mean really, is this a Transformers convention or a CASINO??!! :P STOOPID!!!

To whom are you referring? Are you complaining about the club/con or those of us who have a problem with the con setup? :tfhuh

Oh, sorry. I'm referring to the con itself. :redface

No problem. No need for an apology. I just wanted to make sure I was receiving you in the correct way. As far as the casino thing, I've only got assumptions on why they chose to do that. My ideas on it would probably bore folks, so I'll refrain. :D

It all comes down to personal choice. They took most of our choices away about what we will or will not pay for if we're going to the con. The one choice they can't take away is whether or not to actually go to the con. I'll be making the choice not to go this year. I'm not really going to boycott it or anything. I've just decided that I don't want to afford some of the events that they want to force us to pay for. I know 3H's business sense was less than mediocre, but atleast their order forms left you with so many different ways to experience the convention. Basically, you could pay for what you wanted.

Now, I know that one excuse for the lack of choice could be that some things wouldn't end up paid for and participation for some events would be low. Well, if that's the case, maybe they should make sure everything that is offered is:

1.) Something Transformers related, 2.) Something cool that everyone would bust their asses to afford, and 3.) Something you can take with you when the convention is over. Atleast last year we got all kinds of stuff like comics, T-shirts, autographed posters, etc. Now, some of that stuff could have been much better, but the point is I got something that I wanted when given the choice.

If MC wises up and gives our choices back next year, I fully intend to be there. If not, OTFCC '04 will remain the last con I attended. It's nothing personal. It's just business. Perhaps they should have asked us fans what events and/or items we were interested in purchasing instead of just going with "what has been proven." As others have said, "we're not the GIJoe fans." We're difficult to please, but all it takes is a little research and a little thought.

I think we all can agree that the main complaint is that they don't allow us to choose what we want to attend.  If the prices are higher I won't mind, I understand the need for that, but atleast give people the choice to attend CASINO NIGHT or the DINNER.  But as it is, we can't choose so we must tell them we don't like it.  I'm not sure boycotting the convention is the way to go, but instead go to the convention and boycott the events you don't like.  That is probably the best thing you can do.

I want to go, and i would, but my bank account is boycotting the con...  He's tough to argue with sometimes :redface

I just don't think paying for an event that you don't like and skipping it is the way to go. I think most people work hard for their money and don't like wasting it. Just my opinion though. Also, I don't have a problem with the idea that MC needs to turn a profit off this convention. I understand that, but atleast make your money off something people actually want. Where are the Tshirts? Where are the comics? Where are some other cool collectible Transformers items that I wouldn't complain about buying? Why are they concentrating more on dinners and other crap that you can't take with you when you leave the con? Honestly, I'd have more fun going to the local McDonalds with some cool fellow Transfans that I would meet up with. $5 value meal and I'm a lot happier than I would be with a forced "official" dinner. :(

You're not really boycotting an event if you've paid for it.

If everybody buys a package that includes a dinner and casino chips, and then doesn't use them, who'll care? All the organizers care about is that you all paid for it, and they'll do it again next year because they'll know that people will pay for dumb Blot just to get the exclusives.

Yea like we need SOMETHING ELSE to take out money away from us... Transformers is enough isn't it? Maybe if they had some chip exchange for toys program... like they do at arcades with tickets. Say you get a million chips and you can trade them for a Black Zarak or something.

I have never been able to **afford** to go to a convention, not because of the admission price, but because I wouldn't have been able to buy any toys!

Maybe if they had some chip exchange for toys program... like they do at arcades with tickets. Say you get a million chips and you can trade them for a Black Zarak or something.

And that may be very well how this works. Still though. If they have something there that I want, I wouldn't mind just outright buying it. I'd rather that than have some tickets or chips that I know I HAVE to use.

Is this thread still going? Jeebus. Either go or don't go.

And that's hardly the point. When discussion stops, there is no longer a need for a messageboard.

The way I understand it, the winning from the casino will be used to bid in a auction on things you wouldn't be able to get otherwise.
