I'm personally in favor of the original actors, BUT (ducks in preparation) I don't make the decisions and won't boycott it if they don't.

Whoever does Optimus needs to get the essence of GENERATION 1 Optimus... the ultimate good guy leader, but not as principled as Superman.  Also, he needs to be older, kind of wise.  Morgan Freeman has the essence of it, but I can't see him yelling "Transform and Roll Out!"

and.. my personal opinion... I think Chris Rock has the voice for Starscream-can play a decent sidekick, but is the ultimate coward. :tflaugh

Chris Rock as Starscream, you say Icefire Prime?

No offence, but Rock sounds just that little too black for Starscream. I'm not being racist, but SS always had this arrogance and attitude only a white man could possess.

Essentially, Rock is too cool for SS. Blaster or Jazz, maybey.................

If rock ever talks again, he will die.

in 50 years in a mansion, dammit. Edit: I hate the man's voice. it gets on my nerves so badly it's not funny. it's like hearing something scratch chalkboard.

Due to the nature of the film, it'd be best to have the original Prime and Megatron. If it were up to me, Cullen and Kaye would be voicing Prime and Megatron.

note... in response...I know it's a lil off topic buuuut ...

Starscream's voice always had that edge to it.. and I always think of Rock when I hear him... and trust me... Rock can play arrogant.. watch the scene in "Bigger and Blacker" when he's talking about old black men :-P

what.. you can't see Screamer goin' off about "da big piece of chicken!" :tflaugh

Cullen. He's Prime to me. He seems to put across this slightly aloof, somewhat noble but incredibly dedicated millitary leader. That's the vibe I got off his Prime, and I'd like to see that Prime again in the film.

Chalk's Prime was much more of a thinker, and certainly far more flawed. He wasn't as "good" as Cullens Prime, but his Prime will always come across as closer to Primal and Optimus Prime. At least to me.

So Cullen, then.

Cullen for me.  It'd be like changing Darth Vader's voice from James Earl Jones.

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"!!!1!!!!

No Neil Kaplan fans up in here?  For shame!  He's got my support at least.

You know they'll get a big name celeb in.  And as long as they do a good job, I have to say I don't really mind!

cullen he just sounds so much more bad ass the chalk IMO cullen will always be prime and chalk will always remind me of primal

Agreed.

to get big movie stars to do it would be wrong, dreamwave want to do that but what they need to realise is that the fans want g1 esc voices and characters
