TRU exclusive "Mega Alternators"? And Cybertron...

Recommended Posts

A bigger bot means more parts and sometimes a more complex transformation. Which means more money. It will definately come in a bigger box to justify the price hike. That why they didnt jam E Landmine into a Mega sized box.

However, there are plenty of small SUVs on the market that could easily be used in the line (Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4, etc) - even the Toyota MPV isn't that big.

The reason I'm playing devil's advocate - while I love them, I'm not sure that the Alt line sells enough in the retail market to consider expanding into larger sizes.

One thing to keep in mind is TRU already uses the word "MEGA" on their reduced price 2-packs of figures.  If your local store still has the Energon OP/Megatron 2-pack, look for signs around it with the price.  I believe it says something like "Mega value."

I predict this is just another reduced-price 2-pack.

From what I understand, Hasbro and other toy companies are trying to distribute exclusives to different chains other than Walmart as they want the other stores to stay afloat and not have Walmart dominating prices (which is why the GIJoe line is now internet exclusive btw, WM is the culprit)

The TRU near me is still carrying new GIJoes.

My bet: "OMEGA"-Wheeljack.

Dude... That "Omega" bit was taken from the JAPANESE story... which is based on the toys, not the other way round.

Didn't you learn anything from "Zoom-Zoom"? :P

Think I'd just about die if the exclusives are VW New Bugs BUMBLEBEE and CLIFFJUMPER.  Wonder if VW would sign off on an opportunity to make their line of Autobots an exclusive line.  You know, save the best for last type of situation?  Hoping like crazy.  The only ones that'll make my BT/ALT collection complete is Prowl and Bumblebee.

Keeping all the Alternators at 1:24 scale wouldn't mean we'd get really huge Transformers, as long as they're normal automobiles.  Sure a van or truck would be a little bigger, but not so much that it would cost more to make them.  It's not like they are going to have more intricate parts and finer details than typical BTs or Alternators.

Atleast we know that short bus known as Ironhide should be the normal 19.99 price point.

Unless they go really off the rails with the repaint, will 'Ratchet' be a straight repaint? What I mean is, how do you enhance a minivan (roof-rack maybe?) the same way that the mustangs vary in mold slightly? I don't see many minivans around modified as ambulances.
