Does anyone know the Japanese name for Perceptor?

Recommended Posts

as the title bar says, does anyone know the japanese name for Perceptor? I'm talking about the original G1 guy not the minicons.

The reason for this will be answered in the Iacon Art Gallery as soon as I figure out the answer.

Anybody know?

()^_^ Really? With so many name changes in the universe I couldn't remeber if he was one of them or not. Oh well. Thanks for helping me out man.

If your computer can display it, here's his name in Japanese Katakana:

パセプタ ("Pa-se-pu-ta").

I'm not sure if that is EXACTLY right, but it sounds ok to me.

Yeah, it's correct. Just like McDonalds in Japanese (Nihongo) is "ma-ku-do-na-ru-do-su."

I used to live over there.. It was saiko.

except without the "su". Its just ends in "do". Do you know, that "McDonalds", where pronounced in either "American" or "British" English, is almost IMPOSSIBLE for most Japanese people to understand?

That is the danger of "Katakana".

I berate my students for using it in class and show what a silly waste of time it is.

Except when it adorns the sides of Transformer Boxes, of course....

Ah.. It's been a while since I lived there. I can still say "nodo ga kawaki maBlota" though.

Shouldn't it be pa-se-pu-taa with a dash at the end? That's how I've always seen it written.

Also, I've been able to wrap my tongue around some of the most complex of Japanese words, but makudonarudo is STILL impossible to say without stuttering.

From what I remember, the Japanese Perceptor was a black and grey microscope, with a higher scope capacity (don't know what it's called)

Dont know if someone mentioned this already but it's Arcee!
