I went with Minicon, but a transwarp wave is the the best power up.

I think ill go with energon, but I tend to think that the minicons and force chips are really "canned" energon, giving a momentary power boost much like the energon stars. So I actually think their all really different forms of the same thing.

Energon is what they have always needed.  G1, Beast Era, and Energon all revolved around Energon.

The force chips and minicons are new entrances to the universe of TFs.

So, the TFs need Energon more than Mini-Cons or Force Chips.

Energon, it does seem to power up tf's. force chips and minicons just unlock gimmicks that could have easily been activated with a simple switch but it seems that tf's, like the asgard from SG-1, have lost the abillity to think up simple solutions to obvious problems.

But Minicon's give them the power of Unicron (like Xbob said) the gimmicks are just a bonus for the toys.

Force Chips...

because you know robots who turn into vehicles and keys...

That's a match made in heaven...

If only they actually looked like keys...

they might have stolen my vote from the minicons (even though that isn't what the poll is asking).

I choose Minicons b/c in Armada their power lasted longer than the Energon stars in Energon.  JMO.

:pfx

energon would be better if the TF is damaged, but as far as a boost goes mini-cons seemed to give a boost.

sometimes energon would seem like it just gave them a weapon.

I agree, Stronger, better, faster, smarter, and losing the ability to Transform, sounds like a winner to me.  So null'ed.

Minicons.. though it doesn't make too much sense how they do it.

In the Armada computer game each Mini-Con actually unlocked a different feature so one could a tons of gnarly powers.

So I am going to go for Mini-Cons. Two heads are better than one in any rate.

My vote goes to The Matrix, it seems to trump all of them.  It causes permanent changes in the user's body (via mutation/metamorphosis) as well as a significant power boost.  That, and the rarity of it.

Force Chips seem... addictive?  It's like... first time, woo, big blast.  Then they start using it en masse every battle.  Force Chip Rehab must happen in GF episode 25 or so.

Energon also became something more of a crutch, unless you count Super Energon, which had the same power-enhancing effect as the Matrix.  However, it was a finite supply and only resulted in a power-up, not a major modification.

Mini-cons didn't seem to me as much of a "boost" as an "unlocker."  Sure, the Mini-con enhancements were greater than the average gun shots the TFs were shooting, but did it actually increase the user's abilities in any way aside from the unlocked feature?  If that's the case, then the TF already had that power, he just needed something to let him use it.
