I liked what I read in the article. It looks as thought we TF fans are going to get some very good comics. I'll be one of the first ones in line to pick up the new comic when its released in October thats for sure.

Ultimate Transformers (what they're going for)

I can live with that.

Voltron was pretty mediocre. Guido would be a far better choice.

I have not checked out any of Su's other work, but I was not terrible excited about the pieces that they showed in the article. Hopefully they will look better in context. If nothing else, I am happy to have this decided and done. Good luck IDW, whoever you are ...

flip through DDP's issues of Voltron that he drew. Should give you a better idea.

yes

keep in mind Su only drew the robots for TF/JOE, another artist handled the humans.

EJ is an amazing artist and im glad he's handling the pencils. He'll probably be the next Don ;)

[but seriously, the guy has an intense background in engineering (was what he was planning on majoring in in college) the guy is insanely good about making Transformers [among other mechanical stuff] look as though they'd logically function in todays society. he impresses me beyond no end

cant wait :D

Well, that answers it. Looks like I'm going to sell most of my DW comics. Pretty sad that Volume 3 seems like a waste of money and so is War Within 3. I don't like having dead books lying around especially if the storylines were cut short and given no proper resolution.

It's a little disappointing that the continuity will be rebooted AGAIN, but I understand what IDW is going at. Also it's great that they've managed to drop down the price for TF fans. IDW is also a more stable company, but not very prominently known. Just thank God Hasbro didn't try to commit suicide by giving the license to Dreamengine or 88mph.

well, in the interview he did say this wasn't G1. That they're doing their own thing. And why continue what another writer started. I'd hate to see someone else other than Mick and Patyk continue where they left off. Simon Furman and E.J Su. That's all I need to know. Definitey picking this up.

I'm looking forward to Botcon, October, January, and the special for the 10th anny of Beast Wars.

but it is done by E.J. Su nonetheless. And the black and white artwork is from Transformers: Genesis. Basically it's to give us an idea of what to expect, but his artwork has improved since then.
