Its just not what I was looking for. 

 

You had a great idea...and I was actually going to ask that when you get around to selling yours, to give me a buzz, so I can take a set...

But, I mean for now, while I have the time, and oppurtunity...I want to try and find another way...something no one has done yet...

 

I have a custom here that I won on e-bay and it was the custom testors labels that the person must have made...and it looks fine...but you can tell its a decal that was cut...and thats what I want to avoid.

 

No offense man!  and let me know when you have your labels ready for sale!

 

I'm actually going to a place called U-Stick-It Graphics today to see just how small they can cut vinyl for cars...and whether it would work or not...

Oh hey man no offense taken.  I just wanted to take an oppurtunity to share with the group the professional end as far as I have experienced it and also to let the group know how I arrived to my own solutions.  As I said, I am constantly learning more and constantly willing to try new things to see what works best.  Also, I wanted to open things up more for other people to give their suggestions (just like VP has done) to help you further on your quest.

Just tried Reprolabels, and they are selling me a set...

I'll have to see if its what I'm looking for...I'll probably end up using it. 

I am going to a graphics place later, so, I'll let you guys know how it turns out...

Hey Bluavenger, are the go who sold me the custom Alternator Deadend as Prowl?  If so, when are you posting your next custom...?  I really wanted that Skywarp you made, and I missed the end of the auction.

Well I am currently moving into my new house we just bought but if you like I would be happy to construct another one for you. All i would need from you is the donor transformer. I have another body kit lying around so i have that covered and I have the paint covered as well. So all I would need from you is either an Alt Silverstreak or an Alt Smokescreen. But if you like PM me and we can work out the details. Typically my turnaround on them is about a week to do it. I can also do other Alt customs too. Hit me up and I'll see what I can do for you.

A better way than packaging labels to do your own decals might be to get thin  transparent sheets like teachers use for overhead projectors. you could design your decals and go somewhere that has a color laser printer and print them onto transparent stock this way. Then it would just be a matter of cuttingoutyour decals and applying them with adhesive. I haven't tried this...yet. But it seems like a workable solution ifyou don't want to pay/wait for reprolabels. You could easily makea stamp-cutter to any shape you wanted and get consistent, professional looking cuts if you worked at it a little.

 

I also know for a fact that some of the vinyl graphics places around my area will cut vinyl for models. One of the model shops has a vinyl graphics shop inside specifically for that purpose. They'll take your ideas and design and fit them to your model and then get to work. I haven't asked about the price for that sort of work though. But those places /do/ exist.

I did order a set from ReproLabels...as well as a mess of faction symbols...(always meant to get some of them...)

 

I'll post pics as soon as my custom is finished!
