how would you feel about Unicron being

Recommended Posts

What? Megatron becoming Galvatron, Prime dying and returning, and Unicron being the overshadowing evil force isn't old.

...If it's G1, but after 20 years of rehash-ville, you're right

I don't really care about the show, period. I won't watch it because Hasbro will screw up the dub, we all know that. I just have no interest in these new shows because they suck horribly, and they do nothing to make sure they're remotely decent.

Now, now..  Galaxy Force is good. Cybertron remains to be seen.

And, just by the by, "Unicron's remains" = "no Unicron," now doesn't it?  :roll

If Hasbro does try to force Cybertron into being a continuation of Energon, then they're going to muck it up even worse than if they simply let the old voice shop do the dubbing.

Not only would they have to invest serious time and funds into practically rewriting half the script, it STILL wouldn't make any sense, and would be a VERY poor fit.

Reinventing Characters:

We have had a number of discussions regarding characters being true to their  Alt modes.

Prime = Truck not Munky

and Megs Gun Vs. Tank are the most common

So what do you all say.... What if Unicron was NOT a planet or a god?

What would he be?

Personally - i hesitate away from City-former, but what?

My first thought was an Aircraft Carrier - but thats a lot like Tidal Wave i guess....

any ideas?

Hunter

I say wait another 15 years then reintroduce Unicron. If he has to be on the show, please dont make a toy for him. Back in G1, every character on the show didn't get a toy made. I would definitely not want him to be the subject material for every single episode.

The Leige Maximo was a cool villian. Cool because he was the guy behind the scenes that sent out Jhiaxus and his top notch military force. Then Jhiaxus was defeated, and a POed Leige Maximo was seen, and it sounded to me like he was prepping the flagship for attack.

Also the Matrix monster from the 1st comic series was pretty cool as well.

We already have had the people vs TF in both GIJoe and the new Dreamwave stuff. There are plenty of villians out there, even the old Japanese series had weird villians (like Prime Nova) and even brought Megatron back in a cool way (read = not like Energon.)

i'd feel used and somehow really dirty if they had Unicron in a third (fourth if you count the movie) series.

That's why I suggested it. G2 took the story in a whole new direction that I found interesting to say the least: What if the so-called 3rd Cybertronian war was only on a few fronts, and was a microcosm unto itself, while the rest of the Cybertronian race continued on sans factions, albeit in a twisted, amoral direction under Leige Maximo? Primus himself could play into this, beacuse it would represent yet another perversion of his intended plan for his created race, and give impetus for him to feel a need to step in in one way or another.

Unicron came back to life from his remains in G1, BWNeo, RTOP, SL, and Universe I have very little doubt that he couldn't do it again.

So why should Unicron limit TF writers?

aside from the fact that TF writers are talent-less hacks, it's pretty difficult to top a giant evil tf that turns into a planet. any other kind of villian would seem insignificant by compairson.

All depends what kind of villain it is.

Not EVERY story has to have the OMFG THE UNIVERSE IS GOING TO END kind of plot.

Which is one reason I prefer the shorter story arcs to what the anime-formers do.
