Don Murphy Updates for 5/8/2005

Cullen is a very strong point for me too, and I'll more than likely include something in the reel about him, though I already know Don is fighting on our side for that one.  The World War 3 is definitely my opinion, but I wanted to get a feel for everyone.  My favorite episodes were the ones with chaos in the City.  The Sean Burger Episode comes to mind specifically, and the footage with the Seekers plowing through buildings in some of the best G1 animation of glass breaking.

Yeah, when Thrust plows through the buildings and then Transforms is an awesome scene! :thumb

that sequence was a cool one -- one of the better-animated scenes in the show.

I dont see how a Raiders theme or plot would work with giant Plane sized robots....

Although that does seem to be the only direction Hastak is able to go now days

Gottacatch'emall!!!!!

My suggestion:

Try to show some action scenes where the Tf actually use their alt modes to their advantage.

I mean, whats the benefit of Starscream's jet mode when he can also fly in robot mode? And do the Autobots only use their alt mode to get from point A to B?

It's easy to make a 2hour movie about talking/fighting robots, but I think the added value of the alt modes should be emphasised.

Maybe some fast interaction between robot and alt mode in order to defeat the enemy.

(even if it's the obligatory fire in a building which has no other purpose than for Inferno to make his cameo)

TF:TM?

I don't have a login to Don's site (and I'm not about to make YET ANOTHER), but I'd put two scenes in from there:

1) The scene where Optimus appears in truck-form, drives up and smashes ramjet (or that other guy) and then shoots the crap out of the other Decepticons.

2) The portion of "It's over, Prime!"

I don't know if anybody mentioned this but I always like that "We Now Return To The Transformers" screen with Jazz driving up, transforming quickly, and firing mutiple shots as he walks away. That always got me excited as a kid.

I can't wait to see those kinda of transformation sequences in the next movie.

Well you know those are gonna be the things that really get us fanboys excited... I'm most interested in Megatron and Starscream, personally.

BTW I don't mean that the clip needs to be on the DVD b/c it was Jazz, I just thought that the animation sequence was the bomb. You could have any Autobot do it and it would look cool.

no, I agree. I was always bummed that they saved the best animation for the bumpers... I always thought Starscream's was cool too.

Id like to see some of the real dynamic stuff where the characters are using their Transformations in battle: ie

seeker (skywarp?) tosses Jazz - who TFs into a car, skids back a moment before accelerating, tfing and leaping forward.

a Lot of the transformation bits used in the end credits are iconic.  also the commerical breaks - had a lot of character.

Some Kup and HotRod and Prime stuff from early TF:TM is nice too. I am not saying those characters, but the way the Transformations are used as part of the battle.

EDIT: I keep thinking a Matix2 styled Freeway scene but with Bots instead of agents would totally rock! also using aspects of Spidy/Ok battles where in the bots/spidy are constantly jumping back to save random victims while also continuing their fight with the villians (i am thinking spidy's train sequence)
