Spark question

Recommended Posts

I just watched Code of Hero the other day. Good episode. Anyway when Dinobot's spark leaves his body it travels (I'm assuming toward Cybertron) and somebody says something to the effect of "He has rejoined the matrix."

When the TF's "die" do they all rejoin the matrix/oracle/etc...

If so, are they ever really "dead?"

Quick answer: no. Each Transformer's spark is seen as a "fragment" of the Matrix; individual sparks are released from it in order to learn and grow, so that when they rejoin the Matrix, the Matrix itself will be enriched. Rejoining the Matrix is seen as a permanent thing, however; there is no reincarnation in the BW/BM universe.

nice. OK, thanks for clearing that up.

Without any over the top retconning, did the BW/BM story clarify if their same spark properties were representative of the "ancient" G1 bots as well?

Well, GI Megs and Prime both had sparks, and so did Starscream, so yes, according to BW show canon.  G1 characters had the exact same spark-thing going on as they did in the beast wars.

*Points to BW Prowl, and BW Grimlock*

"Logic is the ultimate weapon."

Prowl strives to find logic and reasoning in everything. A listener, not a talker. Has most sophisticated logic center of the Maximals. Able to analyze and advise on complex combat situations almost instantaneously. Fires highly corrosive acid pellets. Cybernetic eye and frontal lobe interact with wing mounted ion orbs, supplying limited telekinetic power. Afflicted with ironic, dry sense of humor. Believes himself to have been a great military strategist in a former life.

In another era when wars were waged between Autobots and Decepticons, Grimlock was a stalwart defender of the heroic Autobot cause. Today, disguised as a vicious velociraptor, Grimlock continues to battle against interstellar tyranny as he fights the evil Predacons. After converting to robot mode, his spinning slasher sword - hidden within his tail - slices through the Predacon legions. And when the attack is over, you can usually find him flossing his fangs with the internal wiring of his battle-beaten enemies.

i have to agree with X-Bob. the way i see it is that when a spark returns to the allspark, all of the knowledge and wisdom it learned over its life is downloaded into the allspark and this leaves the spark as a near blank slate. but the core consciousness of the spark remains. and some time in the future, this spark may be downloaded into an all new body.
