I was watching TV and saw something that threw me through a loop.  I figured out why Hasbro made Prowl an Acura?? Police car.  Two words, Power Rangers...... yes, Power Rangers, SPD to be exact, they Drive what look like Acura's with Poice lights and SPD along the side (or at least in the commercial) that's why Hasbro made him and Acura, to mooch off PR Popularity. 

Or it could just be the fact that they use Acuras as cop cars in Japan.

Hmm...wonder how people'd feel if they yet again used a Fairlady as the basis for Prowl. :tflaugh

Yah but Using Power rangers to boost sales wouldn't hurt neither. I mean (saddly) PR massivly out sells Transformers, exspecially Alts/BT.

What might help sales a bit would be having a non-craptastic show on at a time when some kid might accidentally see it.

 

That said, I don't think sales is really a problem.  Unless you have some sales figures for us to look at ....

I dunno, maybe it could be the simple fact that they thought the car would go well with prowl. I think the last thing takara or hasbro would want to do is rip off another show. I mean mostly tf collectors by alts.bt so they wouldnt be appealing to kids. I know i would be turned off if they started copying other shows.

um as far as Power Rangers go (in the US) they're Hasbro, Hasbro brings alot of Japanese toy shows to television here and distribute their toys.  If Hasbro/Takara thinks that if one line sells well, why not nod a different line to it and hopes is success "rubs" off.
