RID Rail Racer

Recommended Posts

Yep, he rocks alright...

He was one of those figures that I passed on for awhile during RID, even though I heard  good things about him. I eventually gave in and nabbed all three of them at once, and was *quite* surprised to find out that not only the robot modes were great, but so was his combined form. He was on my desk for quite awhile...I really should get him out of storage and set him back up....

got him...happy to have him....but no @%#ing guns for him...grrr..got him at otfcc last year. had to get him piece by piece, boot to booth.

i saw the instructions. and Railspike's robot mode head still confuses me. is it on a spring which allows it to retract into the body allowing the connector arm attached to rail racer's head to fit over the neck area?

also, are his arms fully poseable? i dont think they can be swung forward. even if they cant, that's simply not enough reason not to buy this guy. i WILL find a Railracer and i WILL buy him!

Enjoy him, he's an awesome combiner. Though I'm noticing a strange resurgence in Rail Racer's desirability. Which I agree with everyone else, is weird, because well until RID ended there were more than enough of these guys sittin' around. Nevermind the wacky drops in price on Magnus and Prime to $15-$20 since it was like they had nothing but overstock on 'em by the time Armada rolled in.

:wave Still don't have Midnight Express. Rail Racer looks a lot less cool without legs.

Good luck if you have at least one member of the set. All I'm missing is Midnight Express, and none of the eight people I asked who have sold them on this board alone would sell me just the one figure. :grump

Maybe you should buy a complete set and sell what you have.

Maybe you should STFU. :tftongue That does make sense, I've thought about it before.

Yeah, Railspike's head platform is spring loaded.  In robot mode, his head rests on a non-moving ledge, so the platform doesn't retract and have him "turtle".

And yes, Railracer's arms can swing forward and back at the shoulder.  The arm joint he is missing is a bicep swivel.  However, he has wrists (or rather, swivels beneath his elbows), and semi-poseable thumbs and finger blocks.

The only real issue I had with Railracer before is that Midnight Express' thigh swivels aren't really all that tight.  They work alright for him, but they sure as hell can't support Railracer in any dynamic poses.  Thankfully, a bit of superglue fixed that right up, and RR can take full advantage of his articulation.

I bought this guy all in swoop, for $45 new. One of the reasons I loved RiD. He is my second fave next to Megatron/Galvatron from this line. I prefere his JRX name better.
