Lighting Beast Machines Darkest Hour

There were generic TFs in BM in flashbacks.. I think they cut them out primarily because there wasn't really a need for them in the direction of the story.. other than being a goal to obtain. If no one was imprisoned, what would be the reason for Primal to try and stop megatron other than he was being a bad boy?

people do not have to actually be physically imprisoned to be enslaved. Beast Megs could have easily been a power hungry tyrant who was ruling cybertron with an ironfist. then, the BW maximals come along and start up a rebellion that is small at first but eventually spreads across the planet which leads to Beast Megs being overthroned.

But then the story would have been entirly different; more of a rebellion less of a philosophical battle. Maybe Bob Skir did want the virus.

I don't know if the virus idea originated with Skir, but he certainly defended it enough. Marv Wolfman came up with the Vehicons idea FWIW.

The matrix wasnt opened because the whole beast series blew and the writers didnt have enough brains to put anything good in it.  The fact that tha autobots had gone to *organic forms* was bad enough.  We were lucky to get the ark and visions of actual good autobots in the series.  As for the lack of the matrix, i can only hope that somewhere a real PRIME or perhaps Star Saber has the matrix safely tucked away from the grime that is beast wars.  And yes.... i was rooting for megatron the whole series... especially in Beast Machines!!!!!

now... get this organic filth outta here!  :thumb

i guess i should have put a "no BW/BM haters" sign on the door huh?

No, he's right HR. The Beast era writers were too stupid to write episodes like "Hoist Goes Hollywood."

but the story would have made more sense. besides, i bet some fans would have prefered this to the philosophical battle.

Edit: besides, it was never a philosophical battle. ripping out everyone's sparks and storing them in little cannisters have s*** to do with restoring the tf's technological purity.

Look if you didn't like BM then just say so. No one's gonna jump on you for it.

Anyway I happened to like the philosophical stuff. :P

And you know this for a fact?

dammit, man. use some common sense. do you honestly believe that mainframe had the money and resources to make generic tf's for the populace of cybertron? hell, most of the tf's from Nightscream's flashback were just retooled models of the tf's from the ark.

it was also said that 13457 maximals were planned for BW/BM.

yes... common sense indeed!

well, i guess i really don't like it due to all the enormous plot holes. i think it would have made more sense if beast megs ripped out everyone's sparks and then put them in a reprogramed vehicon body. that would have been more along the lines of restoring the tf's technological purity.

"enormous plot holes" bla bla bla I've heard that before and I still don't see it. Anyway, spark-less TFs AND purely techno TFs are one and the same as far as Megatron is concerned. The problem according to him is nature, which doesn't just mean organic goo but stuff like free will as well.

so, instead of restoring the tf's technological purity, he wiped them out and repopulated cybertron with several mindless drone armies?

and like i said, free will wouldn't have been a problem if megatron reporgramed the vehicons to remain loyal to him even after he infused them with a psark, like he did with the BW sparks.
