And you know this for a fact?

dammit, man. use some common sense. do you honestly believe that mainframe had the money and resources to make generic tf's for the populace of cybertron? hell, most of the tf's from Nightscream's flashback were just retooled models of the tf's from the ark.

I'll say that the Autobots still had the matrix, and that after the maximals had overrun cybertron, they got tired of stepping in and driving over maximal poo everywhere they went, so all the Autobots left taking the Matrix with them.

Autobots = Maximals

funnie tho :tflaugh

Well, they said the Maximals were the Autobots descendants.  Kind of like parents having kids, the kids grow up but won't leave, so the parents finally get tired, pack up & move and leave the kids the house for themselves ;)

But then this touches on an area of BW continuity that's never really explained: WTF happened to Optimus Prime and everyone else who survived G1? The matrix of leadership is never mentioned in BW (aside from that uber-confusing Prime's spark scene in "Optimal Situation").

I was always under the impression that everyone was suppose to be long dead of old age. that 300 years estimate was just the result of the writers not doing their f***ing homework.

Anyway, deus ex machinas suck.

that's exactly what Beast Megatron's virus was: something to get the populace of cybertron out of the way because the folks at mainframe didn't have the money or resources to make generic tf's.

I don't think meg's virus would be called a dues ex machina.. Dragon Ball Z is filled with it.. it's pretty much at the last possible minute the hero whips out some kind of specail skill on either 'dumb luck' or what have you, and saves the day. Gotta agree, it does suck.. yet another reason why Samuari Jack did not impress me.  :roll

There were generic TFs in BM in flashbacks.. I think they cut them out primarily because there wasn't really a need for them in the direction of the story.. other than being a goal to obtain. If no one was imprisoned, what would be the reason for Primal to try and stop megatron other than he was being a bad boy?

You could have just said "no."

Well right -- the Maximals rule the Predacons. It's just that the two sides see the Pax Cybertronia a bit differently.

I don't believe Rodimus to be the leader in the Beast Era either, since Optimus Prime was the leader at the end of G1. :P

I like to believe that Optimus is no longer alive or is considering 'missing', same with Megatron (ie, they left after peace was made and went to roam the Galaxy).  Rodimus on the other hand, may still be around but may have given up leadership a long time ago.  He could be one of the very last Autobots to still be alive since they all either A) went through with the Maximal upgrade B) left Cybertron OR C) kept their form and identity and remained on Cybertron until they 'died'.

I'm sure they were all long dead by the time BW came along.... After all, remember that BW episode where Starscream takes over Waspinator and no one has any idea that he was really a traitor? G1 must have been ancient history for the Preds to be so clueless.

But Megs' Preds weren't exactly the most 'intelligent' bunch around either.

Lovers to Hornet's "common sense"

The matrix was in the Headmasters series, wasn't it?  I remember seeing it, but I don't think it was as important of a plot device as it was in the American series.  I'm sure X-Bob knows more on this than I do.

people do not have to actually be physically imprisoned to be enslaved. Beast Megs could have easily been a power hungry tyrant who was ruling cybertron with an ironfist. then, the BW maximals come along and start up a rebellion that is small at first but eventually spreads across the planet which leads to Beast Megs being overthroned.

The matrix wasnt opened because the whole beast series blew and the writers didnt have enough brains to put anything good in it.  The fact that tha autobots had gone to *organic forms* was bad enough.  We were lucky to get the ark and visions of actual good autobots in the series.  As for the lack of the matrix, i can only hope that somewhere a real PRIME or perhaps Star Saber has the matrix safely tucked away from the grime that is beast wars.  And yes.... i was rooting for megatron the whole series... especially in Beast Machines!!!!!

now... get this organic filth outta here!  :thumb
