Yup. That's the problem I have with Arcee.

 

We already have Bumblebee, the cutsie "little" guy. Even if Arcee is not meant to be that way too, of a more deserving role (note I didn't say any specific character). They, as of now, have no real brawler (I'm assuming the movie characters will stay true, to some degree, to their namesakes). So, unless Prime is going to be a decked out war machine in bot mode, they need a Brawn/Ironhide/Grimlock style character. An "act first, ask questions later" kind of bot. If they had one of these (replacing Jazz with Blaster could work), I'd be all for Arcee 100%.

I'm betting Arcee will fill the roles of characters like Sideswipe/Hot Rod. I bet she'll be the hotheaded, rash, ready-to-fight character. Not that there is anything wrong with that at all...just my guess.

 

I also feel if she is the motorcycle and the smallest one, she'll be super-fast and be one that cna easily fight bots twice or bigger her size.

Current movie trend:

 

Pearl Harbor= story scene/ love scene/ grueling character development/ love scene/ huge battle scene. more love scene

 

Star Wars 2= story scene/ love scene/ grueling character development/ love scene/ huge battle scene. more love scene

 

Transformer=  :wtf Lets hope not.

Honestly, there are sooo many S1 Characters that I would rather see in the movie before Arcee.

OH FOR GAWD'S SAKE!!! Allow me to reiterated for the 1,000th time, This Movie isn't G1!!!! The Characters and story are LOOSLY based on the G1 continuality.  Meaning that the characters you know and love/loath may or may not be like there G1 counterparts.  As far as Arcee is concerned all that is said is she's a Fembot, a cycle, and is named Arcee, nowhere has it been mentioned that she'll be ANYTHING like her G1 counterpart, NOWHERE!!!  She could be what ever the hell they want, Yah she could be weak, but she also could have a serious need to kick some "shiny-metal ass" we don't know, and wont know for some time.  And even with this said the G1 "purists" out there wont hear a word I've said, most hear "Transformers movie" and they picture G1, allow me to say it again-THIS IS NOT G FU*KING 1 GET OVER IT!!!! The character's will be how there done, and if the actors voicing them decide to add a flair of G1 to the mix that's up to them (and the director) NOT US!!!!  And I pray this is one brand of movie criticism that Don (Murphy) COMPLETLY ignores.  Let them make the movie the way they want to, to drawn in audience's, not US.  If we go see the movie and like it GREAT, but guess what we've already paid to see it, so if we HATE it, Tough Blot! We paid it's over don't see it again.  Those of us who do like it will see it again, and again, and then buy it on DVD, Why? because it was its own film and it was (will be) GREAT!!!

Well i have to agree with shockwave2005 there are many other characters that people would see, and either way you put it your never going to satify everyone. Think if there were too many tfs in the movie it would be stupid. If you want arcee in the movie then so be it. But since she isnt a main character or even a fundamental character it is understandable she wouldnt be in it. Think of this would you rather see cassette ravage or wheeljack...as a example (of course).

Whoa, holy Blot, time out there. From what I can tell from most of the discussions centering around DM's movie from most members is that it's already no secret that this film isn't being directly related to the G1 continuity. Most have accepted this as an overall good thing while several others feel this should be old school G1. For the most part it's already been accepted and reminders are really not needed at this point.

As far as the discusions such as this one, I personally think Don Murphy would get more positive fan input here opposed to his own site as to how decissions/ideas have been accepted. Also this threads original intention was to invoke a non G1 related change, and I think those of differing oppinions of the matter have posted some really good reason as to why Arcee should/shouldn't be in the film. Personally I'm all for it and couldn't care less about the G1 continuity not being involved in the movie and if you were to read backwards you'll find many are of the same opinion on the matter.

Not to jump at you or anything in a negative sense  but I just want to make clear that it's been said that now's the time to let DM know what we as a collective think because before final script approval in June, nothing's for absolute certain and anything can change but after that it's all in the hands of everyone involved. Until then the discussions will continue for better or worse. Please deal with it and accept the fact that not everybody here is hell bent on seeing a G1 rehash.

On the contrary, I'm not mad at the Internet I'm annoyed at some TF-fans.  I mean Stop hoping this is gonna be G1-live, it's a full length film based on the Transformers mythos (largely G1).  And the reason Arcee has been placed in the film (in my opinion, and it makes sense) is no matter how much you say "Transformers are supposed to be genderless."  Well, I'm sorry with characters with as much personality as Transformers it cant be done.  I mean Optimus Prime was meant to be Genderless??? Yah right, I mean he's got a wide chest (windows) and a six-pact (Grill) there's no way he couldn't be a male inspired role, I mean even his name could in no way be female (without sounding unnatural).  So instead of fighting the who male Vs female aspect of Transformers they accepted it and is showing that "The fate of the Transformer's effects all Transformer's male-bot and Fembot."
