Here is what I have started on last week.  I know this nothing new and has been so many times already by more talented people but being my first official full blown repaint just wanted to display what I did so far.  Not going to show in car form yet because I still have to get some decals and a light bar.

A close up.

Looks good, Cyclonus X!!  Especially for your first repaint.

I never get tired of seeing peoples kitbashes.  Even if it's overall the same theme (ie. Prowl, Sunstreaker, etc) , everybody always adds their own little touches that make it something original.  Keep up the good work.  I hope to see more of your kitbashes in the future.

Lobo

Looks like me and you had the same idea as far as customs go...

I just started mine last week too! (using Silverstreak)

Yours looks really good...what paint did you use?

How hard was it to paint the hands?

I just completed my first one too...it was that Energon Rodimus repaint of Smokescreen...and doesn't feel so much better now that your done?  I feel so much more confident!

looks good bro...the only thing I can see is maybe you should give the hood another coat of white to even it out?

Let me know where you get your lights and decals, cause I'm gonna need them for my custom too!

What are going to do next?

Thanks guys for the compliments, but until I put the decals and touch it up a bit I still feel project long way to go.  I saw earlier in the week in a past topic and I was trying to look it up again but the search function is down to look up the topic again to give the person credit where to get the decals and lights. I found the site at policecarmodels.com to get accessories or models.  I am going to try to see if any local stores have any first before ordering.

I don't know what my next project will be next, pretty much wait how Hasbro do their versions first then decide to make one or not.  Prowl was the only one so far that I was unpleased with.

It started off as a nightmare to do, I started using Krylon fusion which is great on plastic but not so great over already painted areas. So after the bubbling and running mix of white and grey paint, I had to remove it off with paint and varnish remover. Which worked great, but totally screwed up the windows. Seems to blurr them and make them milky  :tfmad .  So that explains why I have tinted windows now  :roll. So I had to paint him with testors paint. Got some super soft brushes and did the best I could to save him  :redface .

Nice Job for a first timer...excellent stuff...rock on!

Hey man, looks great!  I plan to do my own this summer.  At this rate, all of us bashin' TFans will produce the Impreza Prowl for the TF world at large!  Haha!

Just for everyone's information, when I make my Impreza Prowl, I'll be producing a set of labels.  More updates when I have em, but I'll figure up cost and things for it.  I do plan to produce them for us bashin' TFans  :thumb

So...I can't just paint Silverstreak with Fusion huh?  Looks like I'll have to change my plans...or remove all of the silver paint first...

Cyclonus X:

Maybe I can be of some assistance to you.

First off, if you want to save the windows, do the following; 1) remove the tint with 90% isopropyl alcohol. 2)get the testors sanding film pack (about 3-4 dollars at your local hobby shop/wal-mart/hobby supplier) wet-sand the windows LIGHTLY with 220 grit sandpaper. (TRUST ME ON THIS.) then go to 440-grit and wet-sand with that as well. (wet-sand means to use a lot of water in the sanding process. it speeds the cutting action of the sandpaper.) then go to increasingly finer grits of sandpaper as you go. (the pack contains up to 600-grit.) 3) get 0000-grade steel wool 9the real fine stuff), and use that to polish the windows, until you have a dull sheen. 5) next, use toothpaste and a soft cloth to polish the windows after the steel wool step. finally, a coat of future floor acryllic, and the windows are all set. Just remember to let them dry COMPLETELY (overnight will do.)

As for the rest of your alternator, i noticed the hood's paint job looks aslightly lumpy. if you wet-sand this with 220 and 440-grit sandpaper, it should be fine.

Other than that, I think your project is awesome. I hope some of the stuff I suggested helps out. BTW, if you need any help or have any questions, visit the Idiot's Guide To Kitbashing in this forum. Good luck with Alt prowl!

Here is some updated pictures with decals still waiting to get light bar.  Thank everyone for compliments and advice.

Hey Wraith Verge I'll see what I can do to follow your instructions, but some reason when I try to fix something I wind up damaging something else :redface .  I don't mind to much the side and rear window tinted, but the front one is the problem child :tfmad .  Thanks again everyone for compliments and constructive critizism :thumb
