Konami Sells Off Takara Stock

i blame hasbro for forcing takara to keep pushing tf's onto a japanese market that does not want anything to do with them.

Yes, because it's always eeevil Hasbro, never Takara perhaps thinking "Hey, lets push them in our markets to make more money".

Funnily enough, Hasbro aren't responsible for the evils of the world.

i blame hasbro for forcing takara to keep pushing tf's onto a japanese market that does not want anything to do with them. the japanese want their giant mecha to be piloted by 15-year-old bishounen. i bet if takara dumped the tf's and went back to diaclone, they'd do a lot beter.

stop assuming this and that. please go get some common sense."Oh! hasbro did that!" "Takara is doing badl all because of hasbro!" next time u say, "hasbro is responsible for all the world wars and will start world war 3 with real tfs!" unless you're living in japan (and tell us more about the mech/sentient robot issue) or get some proof to justify the hasbro accusation:

Takara financial troble was result from investing so much R&D to their Life Style division.  To its credit that division did save Takara from previous financial woe but instead of strengthening its core products they spend money on thing like the real Choro Q cars and dealer to support the car and much of their money were wasted in that venture.  (Choro Q = Penny Racer).

They also betting a lot on the expansion oversea market that never take place such as the slump of of the  Beyblade sale (and probably also Transformers Energon).  They do not understand that US market is quite different from Japan. (the fad only last short while with us here in the US) I am not sure Hasbro is to blame but they do share some of the responsibility of allowing both of their main brands from previous year to pretty much sink to the bottom.  (Beyblade & TF)  Personally I find Energon to be one of the best TF series todate (Not counting Galaxy Force / Cybertron) , too bad they could not find better station to air Energon instead of the rating hungry (which translate to advertisement dollar hungry) CTN.

Takara just got boost from influx of cash from another investment firm and they have moved to consolidate their brands of core products.  Takara plan to relaunch their old favorite such as TF, Microman, Diaclone, Goa Gai Gar and Votoms.  However my feeling is if they do not find new series and new line there are just so much they can do to cash in on the old nostalgia bit.  They are ramping up Microman series with newer series be more like kids toys than display pieces.  They are reissued old votoms and Microman Goa Gai Gar series is planning for later this year.

May be Bandai will buy them out.  : )

Ick, if Bandai buys them out, that means even MORE non-sentient influence on the TFs...I don't want TF to turn into Gundam, bleh.

too bad the japanese don't feel the same way. in fact, my previous suggestion of "1 toyline, 2 different shows" may be what's best for the japanese tf lines.

Aww shucks, and I was hoping for a Metal Gear Rex themed TF...

Yes, the Japanese hate sentient robots. That's why Takara has kept the TF line going even during Hasbro's hiatus after G1, and why G1 was such a success in Japan, and why Takara has five different TF lines right now, one of which has molds that will not make it over to the states.
