Cruel's TF art

Recommended Posts

Anyways, I drew it looking at the Universe Black Arachnia and Crystal Widow toys.  I did a little streamlining of features, but not too much. (Also added an extra band accross the breast area but my toys had sloppy paint and I didn't realize there were only two instead of three  :redface )

Here it is

Lemme know what you think.  Be nice or mean, both'll help me with future drawings.   :thumb

Nice highly detailed pic. I'd like to see it with some color.

I like it, you also used my favorite color scheme for that mold. :thumb

I was kind of torn on which to use because I generally like decepticons more than autobots, but the red just seems to work a lot better with purple when compared with the orange/purple scheme.

Thanks for the feedback. (i really didn't need to quote your post, did I?  we are the only two posting in here :rofl)

:thumb :thumb  Fantastic job!

When I first opened this, I wasn't expecting much when I first opened it, but I was blown away!

WOooooow...

But...but...there's something wrong with her feet.... :D

Considering where most of my posts are, I would have been expecting a trap. :redface

*considers changing subtitle to 'it isn't a trap...really'*

Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks...I think :D

Well, since you're asking for mean... I'm happy to oblidge. :P

Wouldn't hurt to smooth out her face... a lot. Look at some screen caps from the show and then come back to look the toy. Show the lines in her face without making her look like skeletor or rather the female terminator sans flesh. They're detail carvings, not bumps or ridges that alter the angle/overall shape of the face.

You've got a great concept of the body in general, but you make her look far too thin and fragile in the arms, you need to pump up the bust just a bit (she's not stacked, but come on... even the toy's got a bigger rack than that!), thin out the lines under her boobs that go around to her sides, thin the waist... a lot (it's how she looks!) and smooth her out some more. The aesthetic on BA is that she's mostly smooth while not generally chunky, she's not the anorexic you've got depicted; what you've got there is brittle and rough. She's supposed to appear smooth and supple, yet with freakish proportions that you... well, it's like you did them backwards or something.

You've got a hell of an eye for detail, but it wouldn't hurt to give the show model a gander and take that into account with your interpretation of the figure. What you appear to be trying to convey is an honest depiction of the toy (though, mine doesn't have those creepy ass eyes... :wtf ), but with definite changes in the proportions that don't have any real rhyme or reason. :tfhuh

If you're going to be direct from the figure, pump up the feet! Note the detail along long her middle claw and keep the arms in their proper, freakish proportion. Her butt kibble could also be pumped up. Don't be afraid that you're going too far, be generous with the proportions and keep her smooth. You captured SO FREAKIN' MUCH DETAIL right off the toy, why not keep going right off the toy? I'd really like to see what you could do from that.

I eagerly look forward to seeing more of your works. :thumb

That isn't mean, it's honest.

On taking a closer look at the toy, you're right on several aspects.  The feet should be longer (not too sure about the arms needing to be, though...although if I lengthened both the arms and the legs it would probably look better).  The detail lines on the face should probably be thinner and not so defined, and the details on the middle claws could stand to be more accurate, I'll take a look at the show's version and see how they did it to get an idea of what's considered normal for her character.  And yeah, I could have made the butt kibble a little more pronounced.  (saying that makes me giggle...butt kibble).  As far as the breasts go, when looking more closely at the toy, they probably don't need to be bigger, but should probably be closer together to giver her a more busty look, kind of like a wonderbra.  As far as the eyes go, I was going off Crystal Widow for the paint scheme and, at least on mine, she does have the red-eyes :thumb

Anyways, thanks for the input.

As I said, honest critiquing helps me with the next picture and your comments definitely give me some things to take into consideration.  Thanks again.
