A Deal with the Devil..

eBay gets a bum rap. It's honestly nowhere near as bad as you've been told. It's perfectly safe as long as you take the necessary precautions like making sure you don't buy from ANYONE with negative feedback or without a high positive feedback rating (or rather multiple feedback ratings with entirely positive comments).

I'm pretty sure that they have  FAQ. Give it a shot, if you use paypal and go by the rules eBay uses then you'll be fine.

Edit: I just looked over that site... I don't think I've seen any online retailer that greedy about getting into my wallet. I'm sure they're a handy novelty store to have around, but good god they're awful online.

Have got to agree. I usually shop at JRSToyworld and that has gone well except for the customs intercepting a package twice :tfmad and my emails somehow ending up in their spam folder.

But the service and everything is top notch.  :thumb

On the other hand I do not mind using eBay. Actually I love eBay. Just yesterday I won Bonecrusher, Wideload and Blackout via eBay. Cost me $12 a piece. I know that is a tad expensive but JRStoyworld also asks $10 for each.

And the distribution to stores is really crappy here. The local Intertoys (One of the large Dutch toychains) had 2 Terradives in a week ago. I bought one but the other has not sold nor new stock came in.

Yesterday I went by train to Apeldoorn (which is another $7 for the ticket) to get Windrazor there. I called ahead and he was in stock. Seeing how JRStoyworld is sold out I thought it was my best chance of getting him.

When I got there, it turned out they had 2 Windrazords (and one Storm Jet). Not really decent distribution.  :tdown

So I thought I should just go to eBay for the rest. I know I am paying a little more than I should but for people here it is even more difficult as the stores carry very few (if any at all) Transformers. And a basic costs 8 Euro which is about $10.00.

But now I am getting all 3 sent to my home for $12 a piece and $17.50 in shipping. Rather expensive but I know these guys are worth it.  :thumb

Currently I also have a bid on Kicker/Highwire which is going for $13.00. I only want this as I am a completist (Also ordered Alpha-Q from JRStoyworld.) but do not want to pay anymore than I have to.  :thumb

But this seller has no negative feedbacks at all so I say he is as good as they come.  :tftongue

Living in Hawaii, i visit one of the toysnjoys stores every couple of weeks, they have alot of rare import stuff and are usually the first in the islands if not the states to get alot of the rarer video games etc.  Dealing with their online dept. however is a major pain in the ass.

I bought (or at least thought i did) a rare import DC game from them a couple of years ago through their online site.  The odd thing was that the game they had on their site wasn't actually being stocked at any of their 2 stores.  I kind of thought about it for a moment but just moved ahead with my purchase.  So here I am living in Hawaii and ordering from on an online retailer based in Hawaii, because for some reason they dont have the item i want in stock at their stores, only online... seemed odd, but i looked everywhere for that game so i waited and waited, two weeks passed with nothing, when finally i got an email from their online dept. that they didnt have any stock of the games left and that they werent expecting anymore for a long time if ever...  I asked if they charged my card anyway, and they said they didn't which was true, but it still pissed me off that they let that sit without warning their customers for as long as they did.  After that i swore never to deal with them online again.  Yeah if you're buying online outside of ebay, i would stick with either jrstoyworld or bigbadtoystore and than fantofan.jp if its really rare or new.
