Yeah but I bet Jeepers Creepers 2 didn't cost $100 million to make....

 

Personally I'm sick of the decepticon leadership switcheroo. It would be cool if Megatron were betrayed in a "third" film which somehow catalyzed the Decepticons' ultimate defeat, but I think you need a consistent villain.

 

That was always a problem I had with Return of the Jedi - the first two films set Darth Vader up to be the ultimate badass, and then he's totally neutered in the third film (along with everything else, but that's another matter).

It won't happen. They've talked about sequels and you can't kill off the main TF villain in the first movie :P

Perhaps if Megatron died in the first movie, he would just be given a new form in the sequal. (hopefully one that isn't just a repaint.)

Just like the TMNT comics...they killed Shredder way, way early on.

I guess it all depends on whether they will stay true to the TF "mythos" or what the fans liked. Everyone knows that the post-TF:TM era was greeted with a lot of ambivalence (to say the least). I think it would be a mistake to kill off Megatron or Prime b/c fans would have this knee-jerk "oh great it's going to suck now" reaction.

I think at the end the Humans will capture Megs or begin converging on the Autobots for a military showdown. Or something along those lines. I think it'll close leaving a lot of things wide open.

I just hope the action isn't all sanitized and lame like it was in Godzilla.

 

Not that I need to see people's heads getting crushed in slow-motion or anything.

I don't think the action will be too cut down. I imagine it'll be a lot of off-camera kills or cars with people in them being thrown around or crushed, but nothing overly graphic or bloody.

Maybe it's just me but I would love to see Megatron walking around with red stains on his feet. :tfevil

I personally want to see Megatron pick a human up and try to analyze it, not sure of all the squishiness of a human. And then off-camera crush the human. Then he realizes how frail and weak humans are.
