I hope it's NOT.

I don't want a single cent going to Pat "No paying employees = more money for me" Lee. :tdown

Oh!!! Gee, you got a point there.  I guess that would be pretty uncool for all those people who were shafted.

well, if this is completed using Furman's writing and Joe Ng's artwork, then obviously they would have to be compensated for this. Otherwise, Dreamengine could be facing a lawsuit. Now if they completed it with a different writer and artist, then that's a different matter entirely.  But I would hope that it was completed with Furman and Ng.

Hope so too. I still need to get those first issues, better get in touch with my supplier.  :tftongue

It would suck if they were never published though. Dreamwave's comics kicked arse and the War Within Series was their best work.

While not necessarily new news, personally I am really skeptical that the artwork was ever finished. If you have any idea what kind of timeline these comics books are completed on, I find it hard to believe that they were "finished" and just never printed. I am not going to pay for a trade that has the first half complete, and then unfinished or patched together for the second half. Yeah, not a big fan of giving Lee another dime considering how it all came out!

Diamond Shipping said they were going to try and release all available material. So it's possible that they are the one's primarily responsible for this. But one can only speculate until the books come out or we hear something official.  In the link to TFormers that I posted, War Within vol 3 was in Barnes & Nobles shipping list, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Somehow, my 'bullBlotometer' is reaching about 9.5 here. Dreamwave, under Pat 'I need a new Porsche' Lee,  really pissed everyone off that was involved, including Hasbro. I'm just having a hard time accepting that his 'reformed' company has any rights - after dealing with artists, etc - to publish this material.

Possible, but, like I said, this really stinks.

IF this is true, I am slagging happy!  :clap  The only thing I hate besides a cancelled series, is a cancelled and incomplet series!

PS: I will reserve my comments regarding the dispute between Mr. Pat Lee and his former employees. All I will say is that it saddens me that any workshop get closed and emplyees get fired. I know how that feels.  :tfsad

This is my feeling as well.  If it's true that the Lee's have pissed off Hasbro there is absoluletly zero chance of these comics ever seeing the light of day - no matter how much Diamond Select wants it to happen.

There is a chance that Hasbro might allow publication as a favor to the fans who want to see the story arcs completed (similar to releasing the OTCC Sentinel Maximus figure).  However, if it's true that Hasbro is not happy with the Lees, than there is little chance Hasbro would structure a deal that would give the Lees any money for this - and if the Lees aren't going to get any money there is no way they'd release any unpublished comics on which they're sitting.  The only way around it is if Hasbro were to buy the stories and artwork from the artists directly, completly bypassing the Lees.

I think your bs meter is faulty  :tftongue

TFans member Strikeback has found that the Barnes and Noble he works at has added a new preorder for a War Within: Age of Wrath TPB and a double check with Borders yielding an ISBN # 1897105215 .
