ever feel that there is a global conspiracy

seriously, everytime hasbro tires to do something G1 related, there's always some random bit of legistation keeping them from doing it. "Oh, Megatron can't be a gun any more" or "Oh, you now need the car companies' permission to make a toy based on their car" or "Oh, you need to make the missiles ridiculously long and/or disable the launchers" or "Oh, you can't use that name anymore".

then there's the whole deal with the movie. first, they get John f***ing Rogers to write the first script, then they replace him with a guy who knows jacks*** about tf's when it is discovered that Rogers actually did research, and finally, they get Michael f***ing Bay to direct.

and then there's the fact that Voicebox deliberately butchers the american dub of Energon, ruining an otherwise excellent cartoon. and if Bandai USA isn't stealing all the tf names, Bandai Japan is using all its corporate muscle to drive Takara out of business, going so far as to buy Sunrise just so Takara can't make any more Brave Series toys.

and then there's alternators. the car companies know that the copyright laws in japan are different so they can't do s*** to takara so they go after Hasbro. First, Honda makes Hasbro take away Alt. "Windcharger's" weapon, then they make hasbro give the decepticon repaint a ghey name. meanwhile, Volkswagon is using all its legal might to deny the rights to the likenesses of any of their vehicles to HasTak under the basis that they don't want to be associated with war dispite the fact that their f***ing company was funded by nazi's.

really, why the f*** is there such a strong anti-TF resentment the world over?

it's not so much anti TF as anti shared interest.

I'd blame bad circumstances on the situation with the movie. As for Alternators...well, the original Takara Diaclone line was obviously based on real-world cars, and they were VERY close to the real cars in terms of looks, and strangely, only Ligier brought up lawsuit issues. But these days, they have to be more careful because Hasbro doesn't want their asses to get sued. But Honda is being retarded for some reason and making the Alt. TFs not have weapons. Oh, yeah, when I pose my Alternator, he'll look SO much better with a dorky shield than a laser gun! Energon...I'd blame mediocre translating and bad dubbing. We all know Chalk and Kaye can do much better than that travesty.

VW's being Afterburners. 'Nuff said.

ps... for those of you looking for a good replacement gun for windcharger, one of RID blast off's fits in the slot quite nicely

What the >bleep< are you on?

Despite what you may think, Transformers is not the almighty global powerhouse you seem to think it is.

IT IS A LINE OF FRICKIN' TOYS!

Things have changed in the last 20 years in all aspects of business and laws, Transformers is just one of (many) casualties because of it.

I highly doubt that all of these massive multi national corporations are all transpiring to rob you of a damn toy named "Bumblebee" or a 3 inch hunk of plastic from another toy.

No conspiracy. Just more lawyers than there were back in the 80's.

then how come i never hear of any other toylines suffuring because of copyright/trademark laws and rival toy companies dliberately pulling dirty tactics to drive their competitors out of business?

really, i think that they are deliberately setting up the new movie to suck so it will bomb and be the final nail in tf's coffin.

BT overdrive! cant say honda didnt allow barrels. No matter the copyright laws, if they didnt like wat the see, they can deny hasbro/takara of the right to use the likeness of S2000. Funny how only hasbro is affected
