I like it.  :thumb  IMO a lot of members will be eating there words with a side of pudding  when Remy's gallery shows up. Overall the alt mode is solid and the bot mode just needs a decent pose or bit of reworking. I for one like this a whole lot better than what was released for Sideswipe. Kibble n bits anyone. ;)

You can't pose this Prowl. It is going to be like trying to pose Windcharger. I like the SS/DE mold. The chest transformations are cool and everything looks in porportion to the casual observer. This Prowl has the worst legs, a huge chest and puny arms. I would forgive all these short comings if it had poseability, but it doesn't.

 

I am not try to predict the future, but you can tell the knees can't bend on this mold!

I have NOT and still do NOT think he's an ugly figure at all. His head sculpt is nice, really give Prowl the wise, older member look.

 

So what if his legs look odd when he's posed standing straight up. Look at Hound, Swindle, Jazz, and Grimlock. All of them look odd with their legs together, standign straight up. And that's ALL Dead End, Sideswipe, and Windcharger can do, so whatever.

EDIT --- If he ends up having no good knee articulation, I'll agree it'll kill this figure more so than anything.

 

Everyone calls him an ugly figure based on his hood = chest design which makes him look fat.

No one says "Hey his head looks horrible!" or "Hey his alt mode sucks!"

Everyone just hates fat people and Protectobots cause of it.  So... :stfu

 

I bet he has as much poseability and potential to look good when posed well as any other Alt. I will gladly accept this Alt. He look no worse that the way Hound/Swindle does with their Giant Chest and Tiny Thighs.

 

And for the rest of you that won't accept Prowl since he doesn't have the protuding chest...I'm betting this toy can be modified to become more G1-Accurate with little trouble. (Possibly placing a folding-down mid-bar under the hood.)

because i know that 50% of the ugly could be attributed to bad pictures and poor posing/incorrect transformation

You have good points DM.  but i argue that its not fat people in general its our heroes and soldiers and cops who we expect to be above the norm, above the average fat slob (not that i am calling anyone here that)

 

My opinion remains, a) i will still buy it and hope for the best  b)its not so much this mold that i hate as much as the lack of ANYTHING else on the horizon

c) can anyone brainstorm ANY figure more deserving of the repaint than Red alert? i hate that figure and see no reasn why it needs to be in the Alt line.

 

Maybe one of the battle chargers???
