a question about the Vok from BW.

Recommended Posts

ok, so the vok are the G2 Swarm which had already destroyed earth. after the matrix purified them, the vok went back in time to rebuild earth to make up for destroying it.

my question is why did the vok go back in time to rebuild earth when they destroyed it in the present? earth still exist in the past, there's no need to rebuild it back there. wouldn't it make more sense for the vok to create a new earth in the present?

I guess it was so that everything could go back to the way it was. You know, give the earth time to get where it had originally gotten to.....

Not that I'm into the whole "swarm" storyline so much.

but wouldn't the present day swarm just destroy earth again when the same date comes around again?

oh I see.......

Maybe they could just remember not to this time. :D

Which negates the need to recreate Earth in the first place......

danmit I hate time travel stuff

No because the swarm were the ones who went back in time as the Vok... or something.

I don't like time travel.

I only like Time Travel if it can be explained without a bunch of mumbo-jumbo and/or RetCon later on.

Making the Vok become the Swarm (or Swarm become Vok) is kinda 'blah-meh, grarr" to me.

the Vok didn't destroy the earth, it's still there at the end of G2.  As for why they went' back in time:

again you are missing the point. in the past, earth is fine, humanity is still there, there's no need to restore any life as it hasn't been snuffed out yet. why go back in time to correct a mistake they haven't even made yet at the time of BW? it would make more sense for the vok to restore the lifeless earth in the present time.

Because it was MEANT to happen.  See, The Swarm came, and devastated Earth.  The Matrix evolved them into the Vok.  The Vok, feeling guilty and believing that they need to correct the mistakes of their races past, decided to go back in time and attempt to 'restore' Earth in the past, so that when their future selves, The Swarm, came knocking on Earth's door, that the Humans would be able to defend their world.  What I'm saying basically is:  It was their attempt to prepare Earth for the comming of The Swarm.  It failed, thanks to the Transformers.

Let me try to sum it up:

4 million years ago: The Ark crash lands on prehistoric Earth.

1984: Volcano erupts, The Ark is reactivated and the Great War resumes on Earth.

2005: TFTM

The Swarm and the Second Generation Cybertronians: They come, and the Earth is devastated by The Swarm.  The Matrix evolves The Swarm into the Vok.  (I do not know the years these events took place, if anyone does, please post it)

300 years later (2300-2350): The rogue Predacon, Megatron, steals the Golden Disks, travels to Prehistoric Earth, Maximals give pursuit.

The Vok, feeling guilty for their races past 'crimes', goes back in time to 'prepare' Earth.  For 4-5 millions years ago, they experiment and give the planet a rich supply of Energon.  This experiment is interrupted with the arrival of the Maximals and Predacons.  Eventually, the Transformers destroy The Vok's work, in which The Vok plant to destroy the planet and go elsewhere.  They fail.  Later, they send Tigerhawk back to prevent Megatron from destroying The Ark.  He succeeds.  This is the last known attempt The Vok have done to 'restore' Earth.

So, if you can understand what I'm saying, our precious ALLIES were responsible for getting Earth decimated.  Yes, they prevented The Vok from completing their experiment, which doomed the planet to eventual devastation.
