Universe not cancled

Recommended Posts

Alright folks, a few days ago I decided to write hasbro and see what the deal with Universe and the Seacons. Because rumors and secret "inside sources" are not something I take much stock in untill it's proven fact.

So here is my original email

About the Transformers Universe toyline, it seems to be slowing down. Is it cancled, on hiatus, or just being reduced to smaller numbers.

Second, at OTFCC 2004 Mr. Archer showed a Wal*Mart exclusive set of Seacons/Piranaking that was to be sold in the springtime of 2005. What is the status of that? Has it been cancled or is it still ready to go? If the latter when can we expect it to be in stores?

Thank you for your time, your answers could be the key to killing some internet rumors.

And here is my answer

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your interest in Hasbro, Inc.

The product line is not discontinued. Since many revisions may occur prior to a product release, information, such as release dates, possible new items and where to buy future products, is not available in advance for distribution.

We ask that you visit our web site at http://www.hasbro.com often for the most current product information.

We appreciate your understanding and your interest.

So while there was no addressing the Seacons directly, Universe is not over with yet. Seacons are still up in the air since they did not give me any exact info. So just hang in there guys, I'm sure we'll see something official soon.

That's the same automated response machine reply a hundred other people have also received in the past few weeks. Nothing new in here.

My favorite part is always this one:

Whoever entered that into the automated response system must have had a good laugh that day.

So if it's automated, then that would mean they've told enough people that it's not discontinued.

Then why do people think it is?

  • Author

standard, maybe. But a definte yes, maybe.

:wtf

I hope you're right. And this is an actual thing saying that Universe isn't canned just yet.

I really want the RID-repaint of the Build Team as Devastator and I want those Seacons.

Didn't different people get different replies when asking Hasbro about the status of the G1 reissues?

  • Author

dunno, whats the time frame when the answers started comming.

All I know is, we have seen more prototypes on ebay. If it isnt discontinued yet in the customer service computer and we've seen prototypes.

Then it looks to me that it isnt over yet. My theory that it's been downsized to be not as big as prior. However it looks like it will still be around in some fashion. I think it's gonna be used as filler and exclusive fodder.
