Official Transformers Collectors Club Shop Open

Recommended Posts

pretty expensive for non members, thats more than retail at regular toystores, so it wont be any better than buying at an import shop

Surprised? I'm not. There have to be some extra quirks for members.

So the benefit of membership is "not getting ripped off"?

:tflaugh Hahaha....seems that way.

I called them after I couldn't activate the shop account and it is NOT open just yet.  It will open in a few days.

Yes it is. Stop putting zeros in front of the month and day of your membership expiration when creating your account and it should work.

I never put zeroes in front of the day or month. I tried several times, but each failed. So I called the representative and she tried for ten minutes. She said the site isn't supposed to be up yet anyway because it is still being programmed. This is why there isn't a link on the transformerclub home page. Someone just happened to find the site early.

I am surprised (well not really anymore) about all the complaints. Did you really think that the prices were going to be discounted? I know we are Transformers fans and all, but didn't you even look at the GI Joe club store. It is the same deal. Members get retailish prices and nonmembers get online store prices. So why would Transformers be special. Hasbro selected them because of the long experience doing the same thing with GI Joe club. If you want a clue what they are going to do with the club, all you have to do is look at the GI Joe side. Different properties, same plan!

And to confirm what Ccgp said, no the store is not yet open. They have changed text in the store to reflect that. When I look at the store earlier today, there was on 16 items. Now there are 19. It is a start.

Personally I would consider the club a extreme bargin if they imported TFs from Japanese lines not in the US. Can you imagine getting things like WS, etc without having to pay a huge markup? A man can dream ...

And yes, I am a member, and no I did not join just for a recolor of a Energon combiner.

And you would be correct.

A interesting note about the coming soon Transformers Club store is the different "Lines" that they have a search option for.

Club Exclusives

Energon

Cybertron

Universe

Alternators

Takara Japan

Other

So for people complaining that the prices are the same as Walmart or Target, somehow I don't think those stores carry Takara Japanese TFs. I think (hope) the store can be pretty cool if it lets you order things that you can't get elsewhere outside of importers. Also, there are always TFs that don't get good distribution. I know I would be happy to pay retailish for some of those plus shipping.

Anyone know what UK S&H will be?

How bout all non-members just go to Walmart.com and get this stuff at retail price like I was doing before I became a member. Or you could get off your butts and look in stores personally. I have a weekly bus pass so I dont have to worry about gas prices :tfdance

In my opinion, those who didn't pay the fee ought to be 5h1t out of luck. I'm shocked non-members are actually allowed to shop there at all. :wtf

All the same, I'm giddy to see that they're offering Hasbro's harder to find pieces (Wing Saber, Grim & Swoop, New Alts) along with the freebie extras. I'm curious to see where the exclusivity comes in and when the members get exclusive dibs on stuff in their own section. Extremely so.

But final judgements should wait until the store is actually live, ya know? It's a moot point to start pointing out faults and strengths when none of these items are even available yet, if at all.

The article that pointed me here leaves me... distressed :redface I have to note how much I pity Jack of TFormers.com >_< He gets the craziest of the psychotic, frothing nutjob fanboys posting on his site.

Considering Master Collector has done more in a few months than 3H ever did, I'm happy w/ paying the membership...I'm hoping for some member's exclusive Alt. repaints (Sunstreaker?)...

If Hasbro dared to release Alt Sunstreaker as an exclusive, I'd...

...join the club like the prison Starscream that I am. :redface

Umm... :wtf .............! :eek

You're in prison?!!?!?! :eek :P

I like it so far. Although the "browse" feature is somewhat lacking. I would prefer one more like transformers.com's.
