Well I just got back from TransformersCon 2005 here in Toronto and managed to talk to Karl Hartman and one of the guys from the Collectors Club. During my conversation with them and during their panel they mentioned that the Transformers Convention the Collectors Club guys are holding will be called "Botcon" apparently they have given them the rights to Botcon. It will be held in a suburb of Dallas, Texas from the 22nd of September to the 25th as well as will have exclusive toys and the lot (believe they said it was the officially endorsed Hasbro con but don’t quote me on that). Also they said that this con will be a revamped and expanded Botcon with tons of new stuff. As well as it will not be like the Joe Cons and will tailor this con towards Transfans. Anyway thats all I remeber so far will post more if I think of it just thought I would share these preliminary details.

Dallas eh? in September eh? well there go my chances of going...far away and 2 weeks into school...thats GREAT timing :tfmad

Finally, I will get to go. I just told the wife and everything. This is awesome news, becuase I could not afford to go this year if they did it anywhere else.

I second that

I'm more than excited to see it in Texas, because I'll definately be able to go....But who the hell thought it was a good idea to have it after the start of the academic year?

Hopefully, if this is the new offical con, we might be able to buy some of the figures off of the website.

WHOA, this is some FANTASTIC news :eek Well, save for the location and time, its about as far away from Virginia as you can get :( Thanks alot for the news Soundwave.ca, frontpaged and credited :thumb

Hello just wanted to expand this, some of the details about the con are going to be in the second issue of the Collectors Club newsletter. Its being held in Frisco Texas which is like 23 miles or so north of Dallas. It is being held at the Embassy Suites Hotel again from the 22-25 September 2005 (although the 22nd and 25 are going to be half days only). Registration begins May 1st.
