Voice Actors for Cybertron--

Recommended Posts

Hey Folks,

Anyone heard anything about who'll be who in the English cast? I heard that they (Hasbro/Cartoon Network) are psyhced at who they got to play Scourge. But I didn't hear about anyone else.

I just watched the last episode on 'Omega Supreme (Energon vol. 4)' and couldn't help but think that Gary Chalk just gave up on Prime. David Kaye seems to still have an emotional investment in Megatron but if you listen to Prime he sounds silly at points. Maybe it's just the assinine dialogue they gave him but to me he sounds goofy.

For those of you who have the discs, listen to (I forget the name, but it's the one where Scorponok is given Megatron's sword by Alpha Q). Listen for this line:

"Megatrons' sword? Could he still be alive?" He sounds like he's King Friday from Mr. Roger's Neighnorhoood... :redface

Im afriad it hasn't been announced yet :tfsad

Moving this to TFGD, this could be a great speculation thread on who could be the actors :thumb

i am very against david kaye reprising his role as megatron. his BW voice works ok for a guy who is suppose to be a common criminal but it just doesn't sound right for a guy who is suppose to be supreme commander of the decepticon forces.

Rumors are still going that a new company is doing the dub (where the big deal about Scourge came from), but until I hear something different, I think it can be assumed Voicebox will be doing Cybertron, whether the added time will help is yet to be determined.

I can hear Frank Welker doing Scourge. I can't hear him as this version of Megatron though...

That is just a rumor, and a highly unlikely one at that, Welker has never (to my knowledge) done dub work, Cybertron will simply be a dub of Galaxy Force.

People like Susan Blu and Frank Welker tend to do more "traditional" animation work in which the voice is recorded before the animation is done. Chances of them doing work on a mere dub project is highly doubtful

Personally, I would really like to see Neil Kaplan and Daniel Riordan as Prime and Megatron respectively. Honestly, they nailed their roles. Because Megatron is very much a young and butt-kicking master, there is really nothing better than Daniel Riordan. He's got the whole ruthless voice going on, so he's good. Also, Neil Kaplan would be awesome for Prime. As you can see, you can't really put emotion and Prime together. He isn't really a bot of fluid motion like Primal or any of the Gundams. Prime only tends to move when he needs to. Neil got that down very well in RiD, and I really think he would be great.

UPDATE:

deeply placed moles within have relayed to me the following...

chris rock as megatron

gilbert godfried as megatron

jean claude van damm as prime

gary coleman as jazz

more to come...

I think not..

From what I've heard, Voicebox will not be dubbing Cybertron. I can only hope that they write it well. The dubbing of Energon is SO off and asinine at times that one sentence to another usually didn't make sense at ALL!! Maybe they'll get Gregg Berger to do Scourge.

**gilbert godfried as starscream

jazz:"what you talkin bout optimus?"

optimus:"i represent the tanaka clan."

megatron:"nowun undastand da words cummin outta ya mouf, MANN"
