What Exactly Are Transformers Made Of?

Recommended Posts

Rereading my G2 collections I had this thought: if they reproduced in a manner akin to cellular division, what exactly is their genetic makeup? I both the cartoon and the G1 comic, they've been shown as pretty much what we've come to accept them as--giant mechanical sentient beings. Yet the fact that they're supposed to be living creatures begs the question: what exactly is their genetics? Do they have a cellular structure buried deep beneath the wires and metal, or is that pretty much all they are--living wires and metal?

(PS: I know the "cellular division" thing is a Furman creation, but for now let's see if we can overlook that for at least two pages. :thumb)

hmm. perhaps the secong generation Cybertronians are of a differant makeup? If you look at the last few G1 comics the transformers hands and faces look very human/fleshy

well nano-technology could work on metal and plastic at a molecular level

i read somewhere that we will soon have plastics that bleed and clot

so TFs could be an extension of the same idea...

Well, they're made of Cybertronium, and since that does not exist here on Earth, we can only speculate about the molecular properties.

The spark is also important..... the most of the time I think, because it acts as their heart. But, there are 2 diferent kind of tf: Organics and Robotics.

ill have to go with a combo of thad, and hunter rose, i would say nano technology and cybertronium would make up thier bodies, nanomites would explain thier self repair systems. everytime they get damaged( depending on the extent) would automatically repair themselfs unless it is critical then they would go into a stasis pod where the nanomites would be faster and stronger to handle the extreame damage. :thumb

that reminds me of how the swarm from G2 was created. the tf's probably used nanotechnology for the budding process and each time they did, the essence of their sparks was diluted between more than one copy of the same tf.

And don't forget that TFs also spray human-like spittle and maybe even blood in the comics. :tfhuh

I'd say the TF's are made of plastic and die-cast metal. Kitbashes may also include resin and putty. :D

They are made out of stuff. More specificly matter. Hope that helps
