OK, i want you guys out there to give me some opinions about the club right now.. im thinking about joining soon, but im skeptical about it. So i was wondering if you guys out there could ethier convince me to join or un-convince me.. im not asking you guys to prove me right or wrong here..i just want your input on it.. thanks.

I got the cheap version ($40), and so far, I'm not disappointed. The Master Collector issues are nothing special. The order form they send for direct ordering is kinda high priced, and your figs won't arrive until 6-12 weeks after they're available to stores (the internet store may be different). The exclusive fig hasn't been named yet, so I can't say for sure on that. The newsletter is good quality. The two product reviews they had in the last issue gave their figs Cs, which surprised me.

 

When the exclusive fig arrives, or when the convention comes, the club could really impress me or let me down, but everything seems worth it right now.

more TF, less want ads. I mean it. If its about collectors and the products then maybe they should increase the size of the Collections its for. For 40$ a year we need more emphasis on the Transformers for a Collectors Club deal. Maybe make the booklet inside a MAGAZINE, that way we're not paying for 20 pages of "Looking For...." and "Want to sell..." ads.

 

I'm pleased with the booklet thats for the TFCC, but it really needs some more muscle if its going to last. Maybe Hasbro should do what Comic Book Digest did and post some of the unpublished Dreamwave comics (or transcripts) and expand on their review selection. One article, two reviews, and a mini comic doesn't seem big enough for the price tag.

 

INHALE: I'm not saying don't go for it, but at the current stage I'd say hold off and wait to see what they'll do. I went in early because I was excited, now I'm commited and I'm gonna see this through to the end. Besides, the offer for a free TF was something I couldn't resist.

They tick me off! I sent in proof that I was a member from lsat year, and I never got any response. I packed away the only magazine they ever shipped, and now, I got nothing. They can burn for all I care! :tfmad

I could like it solley for the comic. I love the first issue. And aboput the exclusive, I'm very optimistic, and I can't wait to see is it's good or not, cuz if it is, all those ppl that didn't sign up for it just because they didn't know what it is yet will start kicking themselves for it :tflaugh1

1) The new Club just opened up this year, they managed to get the first issue out, as well as send the second issue of Master Collector (which is not important to me)

OK seriously, you guys need to chill. One newsletter was sent out with the second due in April. An online store is coming, online forums are coming too (I think they said in the first newsletter one is coming). We'll get deals on the Convention, like we'll save money probably.

 

Seriously, chill. IT JUST STARTED. There is no need to bash the new Club right now. Wait until next year to do that because there will most likely be new things having been started throughout the year.

 

Is it worth joining? Yes, because they have already proven that they can ship what they promise to send you AND have stated there are more things on the horizon.

I'm thinking about joining this year. Do you get VIP treatment at the Con? That might be worth the $40+. I hope nobody really thinks the exclusive combiner is free :roll

If you join by the cutoff date you get the first limb for "free," but I wouldn't be surprised about having to pay for the rest. I imagine that even if you don't join the club by the cutoff date you can still purchase the first limb.

if you're in it just for the fig, wait, find out if its cr@p or not then just get it off of ebay or even from a pissed off member...i'm sure it will be no more than the 40 you will shell out right now. yes they have been on point for the 1st so called newsletter but beware of HOOK, LINE, SINKER...
