This is a great thread. I appreciate all the hard work and having all this info in one place.

This thread should be stickied(spelling)

Thanks! I think. On the one hand, I appreciate the time and research put into this thread. On the other, it's frustrating to recap what may have been messed up, or just plain may have been and was never released; sometimes ignorance IS bliss. Le sigh.

But yeah, this NEEDS to be stickied!

Wow, Hasbro is dropping the ball on a lot of great stuff here. Great work Nevermore this thread answers a lot of my questions as to what happened with what. Some of Universe releases are awsome. I imagine the repaint build team should be made available any day now or so sightings would suggest.

Again great job, and thanks for the updates.

Universe Bonecrusher & Scavenger and Longhaul & Hightower:

Okay, this is odd again.

Hasbro originally announced them last October:

Note the pics for Bonecrusher actually depit Energon Bonecrusher, correct pics for Universe Bonecrusher can be found here:

All of them were scheduled for a "November 2004" release.

Shortly afterwards, Hasbro put up the "product preview" pages for them.

And then... nothing.

We didn't get any "in-package first looks" or something like that. Just nothing.

Except...

There was an alleged sighting this January.

We never got any proof for that except for "I saw them myself", though. Add to that the fact that no-one else ever saw them, they did not show up on eBay, were not stocked by Action-HQ and we even already saw Blastcharge (who is also in the a Universe Ultra class) in packaging, and you'll come to the conclusion... hmm. Weird.

Though the newly released (February) Universe Night Slash Cheetor and Frostbite featured Longhaul & Hightower and Bonecrusher & Scavenger as cross-sells on their packaging.

Status: Cancelled? Delayed? Or was the sighting for real? You decide.

Don't know if that's informative or not. Just something I saw a while back that wasn't mentioned. :tfgrin

Updated Universe Build Team and Binaltech Overdrive.

i did see one of those mystery sideswipes in a us tru here in tallahassee. i remember being dumbstruck cause they weren't supposed to be out. then everything went on mad sale there and they disappeared before i could get one.

Added the Sixtrain proto.

I'm gonna go ahead and put this up top for now. :D

Here's an uneasy thought for everyone to think about:

Could it be that some of these toys have been cancelled because the prototypes/test shots leaked out to the public and thus the store that had previously agreed to feature them as store exclusives chose to retract from the deal?
