20th Anni Prime

Recommended Posts

Okay. At long last, my mom has purchased a MP Prime for me. Now. I have a question. What is the SAFEST way to remove the battle damage. I don't like it personally. I'm hoping it'll come on Thursday. So any help and tips between now and then would be helpful, not that ones after wouldn't though.

PLEASE HELP ME!

I'm also getting Galaxy Convoy this week, Friday at the latest :tfgrin

I don't think you'll be able to remove all of it, since some of it is on his grill, which is chromed. I'd have to think that anything that would take paint off would also remove chrome. There's also some "battle damage" around his Autobot insignia on his shoulder, if I'm remembering correctly. But you know, for me it adds detail to the figure. MP Convoy looks too "blank" IMO.

But to answer your question, rubbing alcohol and a lot of patience has worked for me, as long as you're careful how you apply it. You don't want to scratch the surface and end up with a big "matte"-looking spot.

next time you get a gift, ask your mom a MP Convoy ;)

Well, she wasn't going to dig her pockets that deep. She said either the 20th anni or nothing. Between those choices, I think the latter was a better decision.

As far as rubbing alcohol is concerned, do you think that alcohol swabs would work just as well. We have those lying around in great abundance. Reason being is medical purposes for my little sisters. Any other tips would be helpful guys.

Mom: "Here you go son, enjoy!"

Son: "WAAAHH!!! I WANTED THE ONE WITH LONG SMOKESTACKS!!!"

Mom: *smacks son on the head with the large die-cast figure*

OUCH. But I plan to order those custom stacks. But that's not the point of the thread. I'm just asking about how to remove the battle damage SAFELY so as not to ruin this extremely awsome figure.

u can scratch it out of the chrome grill.. i noticed my start to come off accidentally.. (it seems its just lightly airbrushed on..) as far as the other parts..??? gud luck trying to remove it

The splotch on the grill is really the only part that bothers me. Other than that, I think it improves the detailing. MP Prime is too... red. I hope MP Magnus is clean, though.

DON'T USE POLISH REMOVER!!!!!!! It's not good for the plastic and will take the shine away!
