I got the G1 box set, and it's nice.  The chinese menus are easy to figure out.  Some of my S3 episodes were out of order though.  and I mean "return of optimus prime" after FFoD out of order.

My chinese version of BW S1 is great though.

Has anyone had any experience with the Chinese DVD boxsets? Do they look good? Do they play on NTSC DVD players? Do you need a converter? Are there extras? Is $30+ for shipping worth it?

I have Headmasters, Victory, & Masterforce:

These sets

They are factory made & look very professoinal.  Headmasters/Masterforce

Victory & Armada are region free (or region 0) but they are Pal.  I have a

region 1 Pal/Ntsc dvd player and they play just fine.  Many Pal/Ntsc players

are very inexpensive, in the 30-40 dollar range.  I paid $33 for mine.

I haven't received the Armada set yet, but there are no extras on the

Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory set.  The picture quality is very good.

The $30 dollar shipping is worth it, especially for the Armada set

Armada set

This particular set has a buy it now price of  $2.90 and shipping is $30.  You

get all 52 episodes for $33, and that's a very good deal because this is the

only way you are going to get the whole series since Rhino is not going to

release the rest of the series.  Just add up the entire price of the set

including shipping and compare it to your alternatives.  The Rhino set prices

are getting very high since they are not being made anymore and private

sellers are asking all the money for them.  I've seen some sets on ebay come with a toy but they were the original 98 episode sets.

the Chinese Armada DVD set has English audio

So far I have the Movie from China. It is the same as the Canadian Malofilm release. The visual quality is not so good at times, as the colors tend to bleed a bit (mainly reds and oranges) and the sound quality is sub-par. The menus are in Chinese, and while I do know that you can have other subtitles or languages, I can't quite figure it out.

I also have Season 2-3 box set (with Rodimus on the box) but I haven't gotten it from my mail drop yet... being lazy again. Maybe I will go today to get it.

They are region free and do work in my DVD player. I haven't tried it in the PS2 yet tho.

season 3 and 4 is the same as canada version, only diff is subtitle and audio

i dont have the asain release of transformers but i do have scrubs s1 friday the 13th boxset and a nightmare on elm street and all are excellent and most come with bonus stuff that you dont get with the r1 versions. I thought about getting the armada boxset but got no money right now :(. shajaki when can I borrow your HM MF and Victory sets :D

are those transformers series from china packaging good as in quality and what not? I noticed some sellers on ebay have them for like 35 bucks in a tin can all 96 episodes I believe kinda cool, but just curious if worth it since the american version box sets are going for insane prices...
