There was that ep where Orion Pax became Optimus, he debut by killing a whole squad of drones. Now, granted they were probably just drones, but as a kid, I remember being shocked. Yes, they were drones but they were fellow robots, and there've been other Decepts who've acted drone-like. Of course, I guess I sorta edited that out by the time Optimus and Megs had their first official confrontation, but that moment Op gunned those 'drones' down was quite shocking to me as a kid. A little scary even.

BTW you'll have to remember that there wasn't a lot of killin' back then because of all the parental groups saying that the violence was just too much for those times. Didn't we get innundated by Smurfs back then too? Damn I hate Smurfs.

 

I think at the same time there was also ROBOTECH on the other spectrum that had loads of killin' in the show. People were dropping like flies left and right. I always wondered if the TRANSFORMERS G-1 show or GI JOE or even the A TEAM could have been more grared to be more like that.

 

On the subject. I believe that the AUTOBOTS had to every so often because they are essentially soldiers in a great war and sacrifices always have to be made in a war. On the first page of the G-1 comic there are 'bots a plenty being mangled. :tftongue

In energon most of the Terrorocons are described as Drones, so they wouldn't count either. How is it no other Autobot is allowed to kill a Deceptico yet Wheellie is allowed to drop a Sweep. Question. Was the Sweep a Decepticon like Cyclonus/Scourge or was it just a mindless drone. If a drone, that wouldn't count as an Autobot kill would it?

Marvels Generation2 did have alot of killing though it was the Autobots who took most of the casualties from what I remember. The most shocking thing though was Issue 2 when HotSpot from the Protectabots was actually picking off humans and then suicided, Grated they were Cobras but I didn't think it was possible for another Autobot to harm a human no matter what the circumstances. Another great instance in this series was when Optimus Prime completely oblterates Tantrum in issue 6. For interests sake I'm going to go through them all and list exactly who pwn3d who in that serries. Just not today.
