Well, hypathetically since Hot Rod was a new character, and since I didn't really 'know him' .. it would be like watching someone die you don't really know or care about. Meh.

But think of all the fanfic and "what if" treads we would have if Hot Rod was shot. I'm sure someone would come up with: what if this three minute character was actually meant to be the new leader if OP hadn't shot him.

:P

which raises another valuable question what if rodimus refused to return the matrix after op's return

If Optimus had killed Hot Rod he would have doomed the universe. During the movie, only Hot Rod could open the matrix.

It was shown that Hot Rod could, but Ultra Magnus and Galvatron couldn't. That doesn't mean that only Hot Rod could.

Hot Rod was the chosen one. Season 3 changed a lot of things.

I hated season 3. The least that they could do was give Rodimus Prime a faceplate and matching anteannas! :tflaugh

But that would have made him look too much like Optimus and the change in leadership wouldn't have looked as dramatic. Plus, without the faceplate they were able to use facial expressions to show Rodimus's sensitive side. :tfsad

Hey to me TF:TM really was pretty much the end of TF's for me. There are only 5-6 episodes of Season 3 I feel are worth noting and I kind of ignore the rest as not happening.

Now there are a large number of Post-Movie Characters that I like, but still...Season 3 has very little to offer me.

Same with me.
